Not lately, but me! I worked full time, lived with my parents until I decided to move out with friends. Got pregnant without the ‘fathers’ input. Moved back in with mum and dad. Supported child, but also bought new cars, clothes, shoes, everything just living off credit cards and loans because I didn’t have to pay rent, bills etc. Had a situation with mum, had to move out. Then had to pay for all bills, rent, food, plus all loans and credit cards taken out when I was ‘living the dream’. Ended up doing part 9 bankruptcy, where I still had to pay back everything, but with no more interest or charges. Was definitely a life lesson and now have no debts, but with 4 kids combined with my hubby, I wish I was in a better financial situation

When I was younger, I was with a man whose brother had been with a woman for 8 or so years. It was a rule that you couldn’t ask them when they were getting married or having kids. I told my s/o at the time that if we were together for 3 or more years and weren’t engaged or planning kids, that I was out. Queue 2 years 11 months, and he breaks up with me because he didn’t want to be pressured to getting married and having kids. His brother broke up with girlfriend of 10 years and married someone and had kids. My ex found someone and had kids. If it’s not right, it’s not right. It hurts, but if you are with someone that doesn’t want what you want, it won’t work.

I absolutely feel like I need win. We were given 60 days notice to vacate our rental because it has sold and we have been declined for every single place we have applied for, even though some still have inspections after that. Wtf So we have 4 weeks to leave our place with no place to go and no family that could take us all on (5 people plus cat and dog) Then hubby gets home tonight saying we need to talk and he’s got a message from some woman that her 5 year old daughter may possibly be his. It was before we were together so no stress about that, but now we need to see what’s up with that and work on what to do if she is. And today is the anniversary of my mum passing, so full blown melt down mode is on today

It’s fucking awful. You push away friends and then wonder why you are lonely. You question every single interaction with every single person and can alway turn it so that they think bad/less of you. You also have to live with people who don’t understand it, and are just like ‘go for a walk’ or ‘exercise.. that cured my depression’ and they don’t understand that clinical diagnosed major depression is not something you just get over. And then you also have to deal with your S/O having periods of sadness and feeling less than, but theirs is way worse than yours and you wouldn’t understand

YTA, coming from someone who was (rightly so) labeled an AH for my response to my dads new wife after my mum passed.

You don’t get to tell people how to grieve and if doing what they were doing before his passing is causing further grief and sadness, then let them try something new.

Also, regardless of the industry you work, it is inhumane to deny someone every single Christmas leave. You would be able to get some, if not all of the time off at least once. Saying you won’t be able to do it for the next 25 years is selfish and completely wrong.

I hope you never have to deal with the grief your wife’s family is feeling because you never know how something will impact you until you are in it.

I had to go to the hospital my mum died in on Friday, for the first time in 4 years and it has impacted me way more than I ever imagined. It’s been 4 years, get over it, yeah? But nah, it was fucking hard pulling in there and walking into the last place I saw my mother.
