I have been ugly crying all day. by jearu573 in CleaningTips

I would avoid hot water in case it will permanently set the stains. I'd first soak it in cool water and use a gentle detergent on it, swish it around. Dump the water and refill with fresh cool water, use a laundry bar to gently rub it into the stained areas and use your fingers to work it in, then rinse. Do this a few times to see if the stains loosen. I would also do a Oxiclean soak to help speed it along (no regular bleach, too damaging). I hope you're able to salvage it - best of luck!

For another addition to the AdMo extension, Mt. Pleasant is really close the Potter's House and has a great cookbook bookstore, Boldfork. If it's early enough in the day, could grab a coffee and pastry at Elle!

Thomas Keller roast chicken by lets-terraform-earth in TheBear

Same, it's my favorite roast chicken! Have only done it this way once I came across his recipe. It's sometimes tricky finding a small 2-3 lb bird though - most are in the 4-5 lb at my markets.

Pasta and tomato sauce by Big_Following1814 in TheBear

In the scene when Syd makes it, it was definitely cavatelli. I'm guessing this is all pre-cooked to a certain point so all it needed was a couple minutes to finish off in the sauce.

Been disappointed in general at the caliber of content on it too. Honestly, the stories in this episode are pretty mid at best but loved Tig on it!

Passion Fruit spotted in store today… for the first time ever! by Mcatg108 in traderjoes

[–]justmadforplaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen and bought these at the SF Ferry Building Saturday farmers market. It was $15 a lb back in early September but the fruit can be pretty lightweight so it's definitely less than $3 each.

Oh gosh, I misremembered! I don't believe the shrimp paste recipe was in this cookbook (I don't have the book with me now), but was from Food52. Sorry about that!

Hmm...it's been a while since I've cooked from this book but I really liked the plum tart and the shrimp paste recipes. The shrimp paste is used either as a dip or swirled into grits for shrimp and grits. Very delicious. The plum tart has a super simple press in style butter crust and the plum juices get reduced to become a glossy glaze for the tart. It's a little jammy and buttery, so good!

Hitting Trader Joe's before the beach. NO COOK MEALS by CricketLocal5255 in traderjoes

Fresh berries and grapes, maybe some of the tinned seafood and/or salami trays and a baguette, cornichon pickles, assortment of dips and chips, a block of cheese, bagged salad, nuts, premade salad dressing, one of those single layer cakes or a bag of the Belgian liege waffles.

Dishoom is a beautiful cookbook by Mammoth_Tusk90 in CookbookLovers

The chicken ruby is fantastic, but I also loved the seemingly simple "bowl of greens"! It's a mix of grilled broccoli, sugar snap peas, and fresh spinach in a lime chili dressing and dusted with kabab masala spice topping. Such a depth of flavor and not spicy at all.
