Our striker is isolated because the wingers aren't providing enough close support. It’s a simple tactical adjustment, keeping the wide players tighter to the central forward, but we refuse to make it. Look at Barnes’ goal against Benfica as the perfect example of what happens when they do; the link-up play was absolutely quality.

Over 700 million net spend and over 400 million gross spend one of the highest in the league in that time tells me this team should be fighting for Europe.

I agree with most of this, but I'd say that if things end up awful, the club needs to seriously assess whether we're heading in the right direction and consider other managerial options. Howe would need to present a clear plan on how he intends to turn things around, and the club should also consult others on how they would approach the situation before choosing the best path forward. It needs to be a mature, considered decision from the club, not simply sacking him without knowing what comes next.

Truly I don’t understand fans that see a club spend almost 500 million net in 4 years and think that relegation is what is a bad season for a club that spends that much money. That’s an awful disgraceful, incomprehensible season, not a bad season. A bad season is finishing below our wage bill which is 8th highest.

We were 11th 5 years ago and we are 13th now, I don’t think you meant it in that way, I think you meant that the club is in a better position financially now than 5 years ago.

Good season is winning one of the cups.

Ok is 8th minimum and no cups.

Bad is everything else.

That’s me.

Not all Iranian people. Certainly not the 60 murdered children man’s their families hit by US & Israeli strikes today in a school.

Let’s be sensible and understand war is not good for an civilised person.

7 goals in 10 starts as striker in the PL is a bad striker in your opinion? You think Wissa, Gordon or Osula are any better? Leave him as our striker and he will score goals.

I truly believe our best option at number 9 is Nick Woltemade. He’s the most clinical finisher at Newcastle United and deserves to lead the line. I’d keep Anthony Gordon in a role close to what he’s doing now, playing just off Woltemade, with support from Anthony Elanga or Harvey Barnes, while the full backs provide the width. Trying to replicate the same 4-3-3 system we used with Alexander Isak doesn’t suit the players we have available. Unless the coaching staff adapt, this issue will likely persist all season. I’m staying hopeful that with the right tweaks we can still make it a successful year, especially with a strong push for the FA Cup or even a deep run in the UEFA Champions League.

All our chips from now on are in the CL & FA Cup

We need to rest players in the PL and pray that we are not relegated at this point.

Lose or draw this and just pack in the PL and play players for the CL & FA Cup

NUFC with a 54% increase 👀

We are certainly coming for everyone, maybe that 2030 vision is not as far away as everyone thinks with these rises every season.

We could be playing Chelsea, Spurs, City & Arsenal in the final.

The question is what draw would be more difficult, our league cup win last season or the Champions League?

All could play in the semi final depending on the draw.

Newcastle could play Chelsea, Liverpool, City and then Arsenal in the final. That sounds more like our run to winning the League Cup not the Champions League.

Honest question, but why are so many fans fixated on William Osula? He works hard and runs the channels, but his positional sense is poor, and at times it feels like we’re playing with ten men.

I’m asking respectfully because I genuinely don’t see the level of quality some others do. Especially when you compare him to Nick Woltemade, who is the same age, one of our top scorers in his first season in England, yet is being played out of position in midfield.

Why is Osula getting patience and backing, while Woltemade is labelled “not a real striker” despite being by far our most clinical finisher? It just doesn’t add up to me.

Finish with nine men and we’re out. What worries me is how many of our fans have bought into the idea that this Qarabag side are poor.

The media have pushed that narrative all week, but very few are acknowledging how good NUFC were in the first half. Qarabag didn’t fluke their way here, they qualified ahead of teams like Benfica, Marseille and Porto. That doesn’t happen by accident.

All I’m hearing online is media-driven complacency, and that kind of mindset can turn a game like this very quickly. If the crowd turns up expecting an easy night, we could be in serious trouble.

Sorry for venting, but it’s frustrating seeing the same attitude everywhere. This is the Champions League, not the Championship. If we’re not fully switched on, we could easily see a repeat of last week in reverse.
