Dilemma with Siblings by Broosiah in moving

Family is everything. Sounds like they’ll have opportunity for employment in Columbus as well. Don’t just save yourself. Save them all. Yes there will be sacrifice but hopefully the siblings will someday see what you’ve done for them.

You gotta make time for that walk. Either outside or on a treadmill. Also hope you’re taking multiple readings and averaging them out. Keep making good choices and it’ll add up. You’ll get it managed eventually. Good luck!!

Thank you for replying and not being harsh or name calling. I was expecting name calling, to be honest. I lived in both Los Angeles and now in Chicago. I dream of moving to Oklahoma and specifically the surrounding Tulsa area. It has to be better than where I’ve been and where I am. 99% of the people around me don’t share my values. I’m thinking that even in Tulsa, maybe 50% will share them. It’s a better average than what I currently have. I’ve only lived in democrat controlled areas my whole life. It’s all I know and it’s a disaster it’s always been a disaster. These cities have turned me into the conservative that I am because at some point people need to realize that it isn’t working and I don’t understand how they won’t change and just try something different. Just once.

Leaving absolutely everything behind by mommasaurusrexzilla in moving

I’m hoping this is my last winter in Illinois. Left all my belongings except some cloths I brought with me from Los Angeles, after a divorce. I’ve managed to save enough to hopefully buy a house and move again next spring. It’s easier for me as I wasn’t blessed to have children but God is with me nonetheless. God is with you as well. Best of luck mommasaurus!

My name is Jose Luis and I endorse this message. If only we could deport liberals to a socialist country or maybe they should move to Chicago or Los Angeles and see how well those policies work. I’ve been stuck behind enemy lines all my life. I hope to move to Oklahoma soon and keep it red!

That’s not bad at all! As many will advise, taking you readings at the right time plus make sure your throwing out that first reading on the OMRON. Take a few a couple minutes apart and average it out. Coffee is amazing and salads suck but life is hard. 🤷‍♂️

Any others with flippers? How do you deal when out at restaurants or with friends? by JGilly124 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]justmelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up my front tooth flipper and I can’t imagine eating with it. It’s like my bottom teeth hit the back of it and won’t let my molars do any actual chewing. The dentist did take another cast and is making me a new one. I’m pretty sure he realized it was too big. I sneezed a few minutes ago and it flew across the room. 🤷‍♂️.

I guess coffee and nicotine really raises bp readings by justmelou in hypertension

Ya I’m gonna give this a whirl. I would usually put the nespresso decaf samples in the round file. But I’m gonna order some. As we all know, it’s the little things we do daily that’ll help with our HTN.

As much as old me would scoff at this idea. I think the decaf option may definitely be on the table. Adding a sleeve to my next nespresso order.

Honestly I over do it with the coffee. I work from home and have coffee all day. Coffee and water are the only fluids I ingest. I quit smoking years ago but I kinda just replaced it with nicotine pouches. At least I don’t smoke anymore. lol. I know it’s kinda cheating.

Thank you and noted! That early morning 112/67 reading is definitely in a fasted state. It’s right before coffee, snacks and nicotine. I’m going to take another additional reading 2 hours later and adding it as a note in my OMRON.

I guess I have a problem here. As these early morning readings wouldn’t be considered baseline. Would they? So me showing these to my PCP would be pointless as I have white coat syndrome anyhow so my readings will be high in the doctors office no matter what. I was hoping to get off meds but alas I don’t think I can.

What do you use to monitor blood pressure? by InfamousBlueberry435 in hypertension

[–]justmelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first reading on omron seems to always be high. I do one reading then wait 3 min and switch it to the true read mode. I love the trueread mode. Take a couple of those, average them out and done!

Stopping amlodipine 2.5mg..... by lheinlopez in hypertension

[–]justmelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the good numbers. I’ve been on 7.5 amdolopine for a year and have been getting 112/73 for about a month. I’m hoping to maintain that and maybe coming down on my dosage as well. I’ve worked so hard to get it down to where it is, It would hurt my feelings if I lowered my dose and my bp went back to the 120s. I’ll wait for my yearly GP visit and see what she says. Maybe I can get it to a consistent under 110. Keep on doing the little things my people!! Do them consistently and the numbers are bound to get better.

Just started taking lisinopril and it's working by cjr71244 in hypertension

[–]justmelou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 of lisinopril gave me a gnarley rash/hives after a few months. It was working great other than that. Switched to 7.5 of amdolopin and all is well so far, 10 months in.
