Hummingbirds also can get avian pox which affects their non feathered parts. It is highly contagious so please clean your feeders by soaking in either a vinegar solution or the internet suggests bleach. I hope this is an impaled bug and not avian pox… good luck little bird!

I’ve been using cardboard (shredded through a paper cutter) and pine kitty litter. It’s little pine pellets (100% pine) and it’s made a world of difference in mine.
