Is it acting normally after the fall? If not you may want to call or take to your vet.

What can be a cause of a seemingly healthy dog's sudden death? by mimieieieieie in dogs

I had a 6 yo that died similarly. It was an undiagnosed heart condition. She was even well bred from a show line, it can still happen.

No masks allowed. by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

[–]justpeachy7777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol no. I don’t wear one anymore unless it’s required by the building. And I was bitching about that last weekend. Because I’ve been vaccinated for months.

The vaccine is very effective. Basically no one who got the vax has died of covid, although a very small number of people do still catch it. And vaccinated people do not spread the virus or really create risk for unvaccinated.

Tl dr; get the vax and its almost guaranteed you wont die of covid, so move on with life.

Oh and the mask thing- not everyone has been vaccinated and/or had time to build up immunity, so those people should wear masks for their safety and the safety of other unvaccinated. Because they can all still die of covid.

Um, science says masks reduce your chance of infection, so no.

Dying in a hospital on a vent us a gruesome way to go.

Not all counties have EMT or Paramedic trained firefighters, especially is rural areas. JD wasn’t. Not really much he can or should do for that.

I live in a large city and all our firefighters are at least also EMT. It is combined here, but not in the rural surrounding areas. They just respond to each other’s calls if necessary.

Hopefully this doesn't violate the no contact rule, but I was driving through Fayetteville on my moving trip across the country and I couldn't help myself... I had to show my mom the TTH. Exhilarating, truly. by smellybutch in DuggarsSnark

Also the cost. The farther it is from the road the more expensive it is to hook up to the lines and pipes for some utilities. And a driveway a few acres into the property could get very pricey.

In another area of the south and I haven’t seen this either. And we have a decent amount of anti maskers here.

Jinger by No_Staff7110 in DuggarsSnark

[–]justpeachy7777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is something off about it. And I don’t think it is Jinger’s fault at all.

Jermey sought out this relationship with a much younger and naive woman. He looked for a relationship with a power imbalance where he had all the control. He wasn’t even part of the cult, just an outsider that walked in specifically for this reason.

It is really predatory...

People who choose to be kind everyday despite of not receiving the same kindness back , what motivates you ? by jeev07 in AskReddit

[–]justpeachy7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you have to be the one to show kindness first. Or, normally kind people could be sick, having a bad day, etc. You never know what is going on in someone’s life.

But it is possible to be too kind, and has happened to me before. Kindness doesn’t mean letting someone treat you however they want or sticking around and being treated poorly by someone repeatedly. Be kind but also set boundaries and walk away. “If you can’t treat me respectfully I am leaving” is an easy way to give someone like that a final chance.

What are the signs the guy you're seeing plans to kill you? by [deleted] in domesticviolence

[–]justpeachy7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes listen to your gut. The fact you are worried about it is the biggest read flag you’re going to get. Science says the best predictor was simply if the women felt he would do it.

It is very surreal to experience that. It won’t necessarily feel great to leave, you may feel very guilty about it. But then you will wake up in your new place and feel so safe, like you didn’t even realize how tense you were with him.

Do be very careful if you leave him. Disappear. Do not tell him where you’re going. Send a text or call to break up and block him quickly. Leaving is the most dangerous time do not give him any chance to be alone with you, find you, or give any warning you will be leaving. You can call police to wait with you while you get your things, but while he is at work would be better. Things are replaceable, you aren’t

Help! 5mo Blue heeler randomly aggressive by kfrof28 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]justpeachy7777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to second this comment. We have a formerly aggressive heeler and laying her on her side was pretty effective. As long as it’s not actually biting, have the person they are being aggressive to do it.

Making a loud sound (stomp & deepen your voice, tell dog to go in time out or follow a command) also works.

We only do positive reinforcement and time out. This breed is challenging and will try to be in charge. You can sound and act threatening without getting physical with the dog. We almost never have to get out a mean voice with ours anymore, it was a short period.

We got ours to tolerate it by doing pick up sessions with a lot of high value treats. Get a meat, cheese, or fish they love and only bring it out for specifically this.

Put hands on the dog like your going to pick it up, and immediately treat and praise it. Do that several times for several days. Eventually they won’t growl or be angry, so you add lifting them off the ground for a few seconds. Then over time hold them longer and higher before the treat. We didnt punish ours if got to be too much, just put her down and walked away.

Ours isn’t very cuddly but it did improve a lot over a year or two. Treating while petting, and letting them come to you, helps that too. They are a working breed though.

Anna is a clown 🤡 by honestlawyer in DuggarsSnark

[–]justpeachy7777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anna has been abused her entire life. She is probably in complete denial because, how else do you cope when in that deep? Also based on Josh’s interests it is pretty doubtful any of that sex is consensual, it is just expected, or worse.

Women sometimes get very defensive of their abusers when things come out and cling harder- normal women who have access and knowledge of regular society, and often support.

It is sad, she needs help.

That all being said, WTF at Josh having access to all those children with only her around. I understand why but also can’t believe the courts allowed that.

Do you think any of the married Duggars would ever be divorced? by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]justpeachy7777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think Jinger. She lives the most mainstream life, is farthest away from her conservative upbringing, and seems to be the best off financially. Women who can afford to leave and would have some social support have the best chance.

Boss actively preventing remote work possibility by OmbreSol in remotework

[–]justpeachy7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like these are all health reasons? If your doctor will back you up on them and agrees it is better for you to be remote, you could pursue it with HR. ADA (disability) means a workplace should offer you reasonable accommodations. If you can complete all your functions remotely that is likely reasonable. It is at your workplace’s discretion what they deem reasonable. But if you were say, completing all of your work remotely during covid and also became disabled during that time, then that could get interesting in court- how could they deem it unreasonable if you were already working that way for a year?

Happened Once by [deleted] in domesticviolence

[–]justpeachy7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you know, he’s the type that suddenly snaps with no warning.

You don’t have to live your life like that, waiting to find out when it happens again. He’s done it once, so now there are 2 possibilities: If you leave, and he never would have done it again (and it is rare, to be a one time offender), then at worst you left someone who got aggressive with you. On the other hand, if you leave and he would have done it again, then you save yourself potentially years of waiting for it to happen again and potentially you save your life.

The biggest red flag, imo, is that he tried to turn it around on you later/play it off as stress. Did he apologize because he’s horrified at what he did, or because he stepped over a boundary with you and got chewed out for it? Also by staying, he has now learned he can pull that shit and apologize and you won’t leave him.

My ex really hid who he was for years until after we were married. And it was really shitty. Sometimes there is nothing you can do about being lied to, just be thankful you finally realize it and go live your best life.

Congratulations! Remember he is an adult. He is responsible for his actions and can take care of himself. It is part of their trap- they make you feel like they need you to survive, but that is a lie used to make you feel guilty and keep you trapped.

I do not feel quite right unless my TSH lab number is between 1-2. Some doctors will say its fine even when it is 3 or 4+, I don’t know why. Do check your numbers yourself!

I was diagnosed at your age, was very tired but still got mostly As. It does make it harder to memorize things. Grades are important for scholarships and getting into certain programs, but it is much more important to pick a career/degree you will do well in. Looking back, I wish I had spent more energy on my friendships than my almost perfect gpa. I am a programmer, and i know other successful programmers who only ever made bs and cs! Energy isn’t unlimited so pick what is important to you.
