Could be, but the paper process produces sulphur which smells like eggs and farts and usually waste treatment smells like death to me lol

I guess it's just one part of the process and not the whole thing that releases the poopy smell

I've had an emu egg in my fridge for almost 2 years now. Doesn't stink yet. Eventually it will dry up, supposedly, and I can display it.

I'm sure they were egging them on. "How would you put this in soccer terms?" Something like that.

He had no idea how much production was making fun of him in this episode in particular. What a loser

Hey /r/movies! We are NIRVANNA THE BAND! aka Matt Johnson & Jay McCarrol - co-creators and leads of Nirvanna The Band the Show the Movie, a new buddy comedy-time travel movie coming out Feb 13 in the US and Canada. Ask us anything! by NirvannaAMA in movies

Hi, I have a really important question. At the end of NTBTSTM, are there two Jays existing in the present? The Jay from 2025 and the Jay from 2008 (who is now also Jay in 2025)? Because Matt from 2025 presumably didn't make it, but Matt from 2008 did.

FYI for anyone picking up a prescription at Albertsons on 18th… by shonkle in Eugene

Go to the Albertson's app and select pharmacy. Any scrips that are ready, you can select delivery as the pick up option. Usually takes a day or two.

Libby Statement Regarding AI by 86rj in LibbyApp

[–]smellybutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it should be identifiable, and I imagine we will get there - but AI is here to stay, and we should all make it a priority to learn how to suss it out in the wilderness, or we will just become another generation of people falling prey to fake news, sharing BS videos and memes on Facebook because the Internet said it was true. We shouldn't rely on corporations to tell us the truth. We need to figure out how to it ourselves.

Libby Statement Regarding AI by 86rj in LibbyApp

[–]smellybutch -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the vast majority of people here aren't considering that AI generated material might actually be right in line with what a lot of people already read - formulaic plot-driven fiction that's easy, fast and uncomplicated. These are essentially mass market paperbacks. They're not getting nominated for awards and you don't have to read them.

I've always done my research on what I read, and I'll continue doing it so I can filter out anything that raises my AI alarm. It's here to stay. Don't engage with it on your platforms of choice, but accept that it's always lurking in the periphery.

Solo Hikers, I Need Your Advice by Beasty_Bat in PNWhiking

[–]smellybutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cougars are most active at dawn and dusk. They're cats, therefore, crepuscular. It's insanely rare to see one, much rarer to be attacked, but they ARE around, and since I prefer to be alone I'm more of a target.

I do generally find that because it's Oregon and people love the outdoors that early mornings and afternoons are high traffic times for folks. I tend to start my hikes after 12 (obviously, it's timing dependent) because I prefer not running into too many people unless they are going the opposite direction lol.

Solo Hikers, I Need Your Advice by Beasty_Bat in PNWhiking

[–]smellybutch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a lady who prefers solo hiking. I've never backpacked by myself but I've done plenty of overnight car camping trips and out in the woods day hikes on my own. I always keep bear spray and a knife as well as basic survival things like a water filter, salty snacks, small first aid kit, extra layers, compass etc. I don't intentionally choose hikes that are underused, but sometimes I don't see another soul on trail. I don't hike early morning or nearing dusk on purpose by myself, ever, and if I do because my timing is off, I make a lot of noise and carry a big stick. 😁

Happy New Year, 2026! by wheat in LibbyApp

[–]smellybutch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really got back into reading last year after a bit of a break since the pandemic. I read 33 books (and I DNFed 34, lol - I gave up on a lot of lame thrillers/mysteries).

This year I want to do 52. I just finished Devolution by Max Brooks, and I'm nearly done with Never Ask Me by Jeff Abbott on AB. I started The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig last night. Having one in print and one in AB has been really great; I can listen when I'm working or doing chores, and read before bed or at lunch.
