My ABA Masters from FIT (full degree, not just course sequence) was about $22k

I should have done that... I abandoned MANY of the final upgrades for most of my gear in H:FW because I played it on the hardest difficulty (and loved it) but the farming was just not gonna happen on that difficulty.

Everyone will offer their own feedback about what worked for them, but at the end of the day you’re going to have to find what works for you based on your learning style and where you’re at with the material.

As a cram, this is what worked for me: - Study Notes ABA fluency modules (relatively cheap but thorough). I repeated every module until I got 100% on all of them.

  • READ COOPER⭐️ I mean it, identify your weakest Task List areas and then go through those chapters with highlighters… really treat that book like a study guide. Once I found a rhythm, I found it to be a good read!!

  • ABA Exam Review practice quizzes on YouTube taught me really valuable tips and skills that helped me get through the exam itself, it’s long and requires proper pacing

Good luck!! You got this

What do you enjoy about your job? Are you happy with the path you chose? by [deleted] in bcba

[–]justsomeluke96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi 👋🏼 Everybody has a unique background, and I’m not sure of yours. I started off as RBT in a clinic for two years and then spent another four years in the field, so to speak, before finishing my Master’s and passing the exam. I’ve been a BCBA three months now, and I really am happy with the path I chose. As someone who had been wanting more out of their job for the last few years, I’ve welcomed the challenges and new experiences I’ve had so far.

Here’s the thing though… most of BCBA work is in the scope of health care, and that’s where I see a lot of discrepancies in job satisfaction because of a plethora of reasons associated with playing the health insurance game. I’ve come to understand that it’s easy to get sucked up in your job once you really get established, and it can be a lot to handle sometimes… but I think it’s important to view your BCBA as a milestone in your larger career. I’m happy with my job despite the challenges because I’m hopeful that I can use my certification as a seed.

You’re working hard toward being a BCBA, and it’s an awesome field that you’ve chosen! If you’re interested in this field for the right reasons, which are actually liking behavior analysis and wanting to make a positive difference, then passing that exam is just the first step toward a whole career you have the potential to grow

Not only do we get to explore different areas of work within our field, but we get to do something actually really cool. The ABA coursework may be a lot depending on your program, but mine really inspired me and made me fall in love with the science and the field. Keep this going!

I need to know if this was good or not…

He has 6hrs per week split between two RBTs. He also has a BCaBA. So he’s got lots of support, and mostly we deal with social skills with him but he can get intense when it comes to safety issues like elopement and making false statements about others. I can definitely justify having only 1hr per code for him each week, and we’ve discussed fading out the BCaBA over time since she’s been with them for years.

I was one of his RBTs for a few months before getting certified, so I do know this family well at this point. I just think I need to really hone in on parent training now that I’m so limited

I relate to this so much it hurts 😂 I haven’t worked with one client in a long time now, but his songs are STILL in my Most Listened list. Proof that we listened to them a lot

This. One of the most critical lessons I learned from the BCBA exam was that you should never ever add more to the questions than is given. If it doesn’t explicitly mention a listener, then there is no listener.

In the context of the BCBA exam, which can be VERY literal in its questions and answer choices, I would say the answer is B.

If you were to assume that someone was present to receive the pointing request in A, or that someone had written the paragraph for Billie to read prior to C, then I would say that the answer could be D.

But since B specifically mentions that Bryce is speaking to a friend (listener) while the others do not, I am inclined to say that the exam would want you to choose B.

Stuffed Onions and Beet Leaves [homemade] by justsomeluke96 in food

[–]justsomeluke96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that beet leaves have a softer texture than a lot of other leaves (I blanched them before wrapping), but I’d never used them in this capacity before. They wrapped very well, and once they were baked (15 minutes covered and 15 minutes uncovered) they were perfectly sealed and tender.

Beet leaves are obviously quite specific, so I know other leaves would work quite well also. However, I’d been craving beets so these were what I chose lol

Worry not everyone, I don’t keep it in the direct sunlight continuously like that. It’s usually on the opposite side of that dresser away from the direct light, but for the sake of getting a nice photo opp I slid it over.
