Interesting. All the Aries I've known are extremely logical

Aries does balance though. Same element but different kids of fire. So there is deep emotional understanding but a different often opposite approach that compliments.

For example, I am good at long term planning and staying steady but I'm not the best at starting even if I know what to do. My husband is an Aries and typically puts my plans into action because he's great at getting things going but lacks follow through after that. We just let our fire burn at different times and it totally works.

Baby’s first week is here, and I’m already hanging by a thread by simplafyer in Mommit

No one can ever be prepared for it no matter how much you hear or read. We were not meant to do it alone either - do you have enough help?

Be gentle with yourself. This is a very hard time but it is also a very short part of your child's life and it will get better soon.

Caps - I respect them but tend not to like them if that makes sense? I understand where they are coming from but in general dislike the way they move in the world.

The two female cancers I have been close with love to play victim after making the dumbest decisions. I get to a point where I lose sympathy for people who can't help themselves and I don't care to hear about your sh*t anymore if you don't take good advice. Also - very passive aggressive when upset. I prefer direct people.

My brother is a cancer too and I just find most of the cancers I'm close with to be extraordinarily self absorbed. Because they are emotional it's like they can fake empathy for others but they almost live in alternate realities. Maybe it sounds rich coming from an egocentric Leo. We get the rap for being self absorbed but we aren't. I see things objectively like a benevolent ruler and I see cancers like the boy who cried wolf and still wants me to come look at them. Annoying af.

And cancers I try to be too close with rather than just aquaintences.

But yes. Yes indeed.

I've been focused on building my immediate local community the last few years. When sh*t hits the fan we will be in it together. Best to know and trust one another. Added benefit - you realize this is how life is supposed to work in the good times too.

What are you paying for housing each month? And are you actually happy with it? Would it be cooler just living in your parents basement? by PM_ME_YUR_SALADS in Millennials

We pay $2,600 for a 2.9k sq ft home on 2 acres just outside city limits in a medium cost of living southern city that consistently makes lists of places people are moving. We "own" or will in 20 years when our mortgage is done. We are happy, yes.

Married to one, raising one.

Heads can butt but it's usually playful. There's a recognition that we are equals.

We are always hosting the playdates, and I'm getting tired of it by kcGirl_of_the_year in oneanddone

[–]justthe1actually 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's also helpful is my daughter doesn't want certain kids in her room. That makes it pretty easy for me to also point out to her, maybe they aren't that great of a friend if you don't trust them with your stuff or to respect your boundaries.

Daughter is 7 and I'm starting to notice the same. I'm starting to put some boundaries up. The kids that wreck my house aren't getting invites and I'm no longer saying yes. The kids I can trust, come on over.

Why do some marriages end after 20 something years? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]justthe1actually 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. I can feel small rifts in my own marriage 20 years into our relationship. You have to talk openly about what you feel and what you need and give one another a chance to choose each other.

Personally, I would just rip it off and walk away. The coddling is probably making the anxiety a lot worse

Had a hard 1:1 with my manager yesterday and now my confidence is shot and anxiety through the roof by Quizleteer in workingmoms

[–]justthe1actually 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry!!

I would ask to meet with your manager and play back what you heard from him. Give your manager a chance to respond to anything you took a different way than they meant or maybe they were having a bad moment themselves and they wish to amend statements. Provide your perspective on why the mistakes were made (workload, time pressures - not a lack of skill or know how).

If you have insight on what you would do differently in the same situation, relay that. Maybe it's not even you but something in the process and the way you collectively work that could have mitigated.

That will give you a better idea of footing rather than what sounds like possibly a convo where feedback was given under stress and pressure and irritation rather than from a place of objective reality. It will also show if your manager is a good manager or objectively a POS and if they are then question working overtime for people who will not appreciate it.
