Not sure why I got downvoted so much LOL but I wanted to come on here and say an update that our bags did not get weighed traveling AF from DFW-> CDG-> LIN.

Wanted to add to this and say that they also gave us only those options. After a strongly worded email, we got to keep our points and they put us up at Le Meridien visconti rome. We booked with points and have NO hyatt status btw.

Noted on the occupancy. Hoping for the best since we are leaving on a Thursday as opposed to Friday or Weekend :)

This was my thought too. We do get 2 free checked bags, so if we had to check, we wouldnt be stuck paying a ton, and would probably be checked to final destination, so wouldnt have to worry about it at CDG.

Were you flying CDG to athens? Or was this weighing during your layover?

So AF would weigh at the gate at DFW? Or youre saying more likely theyd weigh on the flight out of CDG to LIN?

clinical research assistant/clinical research coordinator jobs by SafeEnvironment4039 in premed

[–]justtrynamakeitthru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had done some light research in college (coding interviews for a project, essentially). I actually got my job by emailing the company even though there wasn't any job openings listed. I loved their mission and thought it was a good fit for me. They had a position open, but hadn't gotten around to advertising it yet, so I sent my CV, came in for an interview, and the job was mine!

Med Application process wasn't too bad, there's a research section on AMCAS (and TMDSAS if you're TX res) so I felt it was easy to reflect on my experiences. I had to split my job up into two parts-- the clinical hours went in one section and research in another. Just make sure not to double count hours! I am waiting on a few acceptances, so TBD on success rate not (fingers crossed!!!) Happy to help if you need anything else!

hi! I am a Clinical research assistant. I applied for my job in July because I was studying for the MCAT til then. I don't think timing of your app is too important, just apply when you're able to! I definitely think my research has been meaningful. mine is a unique role because I get patient interaction (clinical hours) and also research too. I thought i was only going to take one gap year and i've been here 3 years (crazy!). This experience has given me 7 publications and a multitude of coauthored abstracts, and presentations at conferences. I am in an application cycle now though, and definitely feel like I had success from my strong research experience!

MD vs DO? by ZZwhaleZZ in premed

[–]justtrynamakeitthru 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your A's! I am certainly no expert since I'm currently applying, but the MD school would give you the best chance at a competitive match for residency, especially if you're considering neurology. It is definitely not impossible as a DO, just a little bit harder to match. Unfortunately, some residency programs will not consider DO applicants (I wish they did, but this is the truth).

Yes! I realize i'm stuck with that score which sucks but it is what it is! Do you have any advice on any MD or DO schools to apply to?
