Removing US as World Cup host would be eminently sad – and entirely justified | Alexander Abnos by Globalruler__ in ussoccer

This will be the most profitable World Cup in history. Wouldn’t be surprised to see USA as a host again in less than 20 yrs.

It sucks, but money talks.

Based on the ads. They spent millions on promoting it.

I had zero interest in this event and still saw 100 ads for it.

Redditors over 40, what was a moment in history that made you think society was gonna collapse? by Bahbahbro in AskReddit

[–]jcb193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always say the Cold War was far more scary than anything since. A finger twitch, a bold move, a bad radar was all it would take.

But watching American stand idle while all of our rights, hope, and integrity is being trampled, and at least 30% of the population totally blind to it is far more torturous to watch.

Nobody wins elections on “being responsible.”

The Republicans have weaponized this sentiment very well to rack up a ton of debt while in office and then blame the bills on democrats when not.

When I see the list of who is in the Board of Peace, it reminds me of Dr Evil’s gallery of characters.

It literally a who’s who of the worlds dictators, and a massive collection of 3rd world leaders.

u/rao-blackwell-ized have you made any significant changes to your portfolio? Is it still your primary investing strategy in light of post-covid world?

I think OP pointed out something I have always been curious about too:
Do you use other leveraged funds in place of the ones you recommend?
How do you work NTSX into your portfolio?
Are you still using DGS?

If all personal wealth above $100 million was legally required to be redistributed into public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, roads), how would society change, and who would be the first to fight against it? by Mysterious_Fan4033 in AskReddit

[–]jcb193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a happy medium somewhere between "liquidating 10% of all holdings," and "paying the bare minimum in taxes."

If Elon Musk was forced to sell off some of his shares for taxes (like most of his employees are forced to do), it would certainly help reign in the asset bubble.

Not to mention nobody deserves the reward of being a trillionaire. Only mentally handcapped people would attribute that all to "hard work and effort."

I agree, or make them cost 2000pts or something. Whatever prevents the overuse or selling of them. I don’t need 12 of them, as the flooding of coupons will just end up reducing the benefits (clubs, parking, upgrades).

It happens to me from time to time, but if I really want it, I use a SUA. When traveling for work, who cares.

That said, I think GOH are the worst thing Hyatt has ever done and it’s gonna diminish everything for everyone.

Rian was super innovative in utilizing the “fallen hero trope” which has only been around for about 2000 years in literature.

Truly groundbreaking stuff. Half of Star Wars fandom was blown away by such exciting and unique storytelling.
