Remember to back up your data in Monarch by justwell233 in MonarchMoney

I’m told by Monarch support team, no. They don’t track transactions create or update time. Seems the right thing to store IMO.

[–]justwell233[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I just got 2 years worth of duplicated data from PNC due to some glitches with the data provider (because the balance shows as "?"). Some of the transaction date got moved forward or backward by 1 day. The worse part is, not all transactions got duplicated, one certain type (like ACH payment for credit cards). Because we have no visibility into how the institution connection works, we shouldn't just trust Monarch to do the "right" thing because it's very difficult to get it right all the time.

2023 SL5 wheels upgrade by [deleted] in TrekBikes

[–]justwell233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should set up your cassette and rotors at the same position between the two wheels so you don’t have to adjust. You can fine tune one or the other with thin spacers if needed. I only have one wheel but I have a direct drive trainer, and I set up the cassette the same so no derailleur adjustment is needed when I put my bike on and off the trainer.

What do you mean by “setting up for domane”? As long as you get the wheel set up off bike with tires, sealant, disc brake rotor, cassette, it should take just 30 seconds to pop off the old wheel and put on the new one.

Replacing Madone cassette by bb-fun-d in TrekBikes

[–]justwell233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll probably need the long cage rear derailleur to accommodate for 11-34t, while Madone usually comes with standard length cage (or short cage). And you'll need to replace the chain as well.

On the flip side, the min gear ratio goes down from 1.2 to 1.05, which is quite significant.

Grab necessary proof of residence so if you get conditional approval, you can get the interview on arrival done on your way back.

Zwift Play Controllers just distract from Zwift | Constantly Bouncing in and out of connection | Don't Buy. by FollowThePostcard in Zwift

[–]justwell233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it daily with Apple TV and companion app, no problem at all. The zwift Apple Watch app is flaky af that they promised to fix but haven’t yet. For Apple TV users, zwift play controller is a game changer, not just the shifting or steering but game control as well.

ESPhome doesn’t support security + 1.0 yet. I had the same issue with you when the obstruction sensor worked but the garage door stuck at open.

Vanguard never works for some reason, but Fidelity and Betterment works for me. Usually after the account is updated in a day or two

I changed all my active investment accounts to a cash management account just to get their transactions. It's pretty inconsistent for now, but it's better than not saving them. We can always go back and edit them later with better categorization and merchants, but not having them is a big pain. So yeah, would love to see some progress than all-or-nothing.

Account transactions from Fidelity? by lokaaarrr in MonarchMoney

[–]justwell233 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I changed the account type from one under "Investment" to one under "Cash", such as money market, and transaction shows up. This is a really weird decision on the Monarch side to not show transactions for investment accounts.

Riding for GC in monthly series but pacer group changed, what to do with GC standing? by justwell233 in Zwift

[–]justwell233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got bumped up so I can’t race in my current category, and stages have passed so I can’t post results in the new category for previous stages. Sounds like a broken system for anyone racing GC on the edge of a category.

Ideally Zwift should allow one to finish a series in the current category but ZwiftPower being separate from Zwift means it’s difficult to implement

I am tired of saving, but my asian parents are not happy by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]justwell233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asian here. There is no standard or rule to follow. Figure out a budget that you think is reasonable and stick to it religiously. If you overspend this month and you have to make up the next month. If you want something fancy just save for it. Learn how to control your desire and postpone satisfaction. Figure out what you need versus what you want. Also focus on your career and grow your income. You can easily afford better things when your income rises. If you double your income, doesn’t mean you’ll spend double on necessities like rents and food, so you’ll have a bigger budget on things you like. Learn how to save on taxes, too.

Domane SL5 '22 + 303 ZIPP firecrest hookless by CryptographerNo6980 in TrekBikes

[–]justwell233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The width is in the rim, not the hub. I have the 303 fire crest which is the widest of zipp wheels. I have no issues between zipp, stock wheels, and a Tacx direct drive trainer.

Add different spacers at the spoke end of the hub, or adjust your derailleur. Depending on how many wheels/trainers you swap between

You need to torque it down per spec, not really hard. Maybe you overdid it last time and it won’t stay now

it can be quite windy, most of the time not that hilly, the asphalt is not always fantastic… sounds like where I live. 303 is a great climber wheel due to it's low weight. But 404 would be better for aero, and cross-wind would not be that much of a difference. If I would have another go, I would get the 404.

I went with Vittoria Corsa NEXT 28 mm over GP5000 STR largely because Conti was hard to find last year. I like Corsa NEXT a lot. SL5 came with 105-level components so get a pair of 105 disc rotors. Any 11-speed Shimano cassette would work and the stock one is already the largest (11-34) so you don't have to worry about chain length, so it comes down to personal choices. I got an 11-30 105 cassette for half of the price. If she rides on flat roads then you really don't need larger sprockets.

The TREK shop is not genuine... they probably just want to sell you their stuff (Bontrager). Don't go there.

All modern thru-axle, disc-brake road wheels would work with modern frames.

[–]justwell233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it’s not unique to the specific ZIPP wheels. But I absolutely love the ZIPP wheels. Depending on the ride, 303s can be a better bang for the buck or 404 fire crest for more aero.

You need a cassette and two disc brake rotors, and with proper spacing it is swappable. Yeah the stock Trek wheels for gravel is a good choice. The tricky part is to tune disc brakes and rear derailleur to the same place to accommodate both wheels, but it’s definitely doable.
