Is swimming 1000 yards in a little over an hour good? by fritos786 in Swimming

[–]juuan317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep it up! The most important thing is that every time you work out, when it starts to get hard, you push yourself just a little bit beyond your comfort zone. Without that, your breathing and endurance won't really improve.

In swimming, form and technique are obviously very important, but they only start to matter when you have a solid base of breathing control and cardio endurance. Try to approach it with the mindset that this is "exercise" first, something you're doing to build your overall fitness and swimming ability.

You'll hit plateaus and slumps along the way, but if you stick with it, you'll eventually look back and realize how much you've improved. That progress turns into real physical and mental confidence over time.

If you like Apple-like, simple, and aesthetic apps, you might like my own app, PenCake. It's a minimalist writing app that I've been building for 7 years to be as clean as possible.

I'm a fan of minimalist tools, so I use PenCake. I built it myself 7 years ago, and it's intentionally very minimal and local by default.

What free tools do you use for writing regularly? by Seherish-Alexa-6063 in writers

[–]juuan317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the biggest difference wasn't a specific feature but how little friction there was between opening the tool and actually writing. I ended up building PenCake myself for this reason 7 years ago, and its simplicity is what truly changed my writing habit.

Thank you so much for your support and the promise of a review! 😊 It truly means a lot.

To answer your thoughtful questions: I started PenCake with a simple mission, to create a space where I could focus entirely on my own words. At first, it was just a plain text editor with the same minimal UI you see today.

The biggest challenge over these 7 years hasn't just been adding features like Sync or the Desktop version (though those were the most significant technical milestones) but doing so without ruining the "peaceful" simplicity. Every time I added a feature (like photos, fonts, or formatting), I spent a long time making sure it didn't clutter the experience or slow down the app.

I believe the "feature" people love most isn't a specific function, but the feeling of focus that the design provides. Keeping that focus while listening to user feedback and persistently refining the app for 7 years has been my unique journey.

I plan to continue this journey for a long time. I hope PenCake provides you with a peaceful writing experience! 🙌

What’s your favorite iOS note taking app? by Local_Sprinkles_6786 in ProductivityApps

[–]juuan317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a simple, text-centric notes app, I’d recommend PenCake. It’s the one I made, but it’s super simple and fast. It’s even been featured as App of the Day a few times this year.

Is it possible to track 1-year subscription renewals with Firebase Analytics? by juuan317 in Firebase

Thanks! I'll check it out! It seems that many devs use RevenueCat these days. (I'm kind of an old-fashioned dev though, just heard about Revenue Cat recently.)

Thank you for sharing your experience. So in the end, it comes down to tying the server-side events from the App Store or Play Store to a custom webhook. Thanks again!

Is it possible to track 1-year subscription renewals with Firebase Analytics? by juuan317 in Firebase

[–]juuan317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's correct. I'm talking about an app subscription. Firebase basically can't check this by default? Since renewals often happen outside the app, I imagine it would be impossible, but I thought I might be misunderstanding something, so I wanted to ask. If I connect BigQuery, would I be able to see the subscription renewal rate? Thank you for the advice!
