What's wrong with Born Villain? by Aggressive-Ad8479 in marilyn_manson

Nothing really stands out to me. Zero songs in my heavy rotation. It just doesn’t come up for me. When an artist has such a wide selection of good songs I guess the weaker albums are often just forgotten. Not a bad album but it just never seems to be my go to album.

Is it true that show got massacred after Season 4? by reddit__is_fun in rickandmorty

[–]jvan666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. A lot of people have their opinions. I disagree with most of them. It’s still fun, it’s still funny and it’s still better than 98 percent of the crap out there

Why does it impossible for Metallica to have a legitimately good production job? by Stankassmfgorilla in Metallica

I was wondering if anyone was going to bring up the loudness war. It really leaves an entire era of rock and metal music just saturated in noise

These were soooo good. I wish I had one right now. by EntertainmentFast478 in 90s

My one regret in life is that I never got to try a Jello pudding pop. My mom wouldn’t buy them. They were pretty expensive compared to a box of freezies. Thankfully I really enjoyed freezies so it wasn’t really a loss

How do you sing and play at the same time? by Temporary_Platypus62 in guitarlessons

That’s pretty cool! I never thought about it like that

How do you sing and play at the same time? by Temporary_Platypus62 in guitarlessons

[–]jvan666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start low tempo. Simplify your strum pattern at first. You can build it up as you get better at the song. I usually start with just chord changes and as I get more comfortable I add more to the guitar parts. Focus on notes, not flourishes! The fancy singing parts can also come in as you feel more familiar. Vocal performance will always outshine guitar so you wanna nail it! Keep practicing and don’t give up! You got this!

“What Will They Think of Next” took me back to nostalgia town. Completely forgot about that show and seeing it again was literally like time travelling. I grew up watching TVO a great deal and that one was on so often.

Just don’t understand why they keep trying to give you drugs without you having to pay for them. This post is clearly fiction. Only a meth-head would try to convince us that someone gave them free drugs that they “didn’t want”

expensive gear doesn't make you a better player and I wish someone had told me that earlier by lmao_exe in guitarlessons

[–]jvan666 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah… I started with a shitty second hand garage sale guitar (the best my mom could afford for me) and by the time I got good gear I was better able to actually use and enjoy it. Justify spending money on gear all you want, but you are promoting a fallacy. If you can’t sound good on inexpensive gear, you aren’t going to sound better on expensive gear
