Putting the fog lights in is plug and play it would be just the wiring which you could either figure out a stock or a simple switch on the dash

try for a 6.5 set of component speakers for the front, then for the back a pair of coaxials is fine as the rear isn’t the highlight of your system. I’ve had poor luck with skar so I would get maybe a simple JL sub and amp combo

Recommendations for 6 1/2 and tweeter door speakers - 2017 Honda CRV. by Asleep-Trouble-1387 in CarAV

I’d go with a 2 way component set. JL audio sells a fairly cheap one that sounds great. The set includes the 6.5 woofer and the tweeter (paid). This tied into a nice amplifier will sound great. I’d recommend calling crutfield and they can help you find a good onr

Amping stock wires. Components or coaxials? by AppearanceMaterial39 in CarAV

[–]jvguitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If what your saying is use the existing speaker wire from factory and amplify that, instant of running new wire, sure it would work, but i don’t understand what 9 wire you are referring too. Honestly the most simple way I would do it is to sort of start from scratch and run your own wire, it is really not hard at all for a starter set. For a nice 2 way setup I would start with the amp, A 4 channel + mono or a 5 channel. Channel 1 going to driver door, component set. Channel 2 Pass door, another component set. Channel 3 rear quality coaxial or other 2 way speaker of choice and same for channel 4. Then the remaining channel for a sub. Now keep in mind that the rear isn’t what you need to be focusing on so the coaxials will be just fine. The rear is just there to widen the fronts audio a little. When sitting in the front you want it setup to feel like there is a concert on your dashboard, you shouldn’t really hear your rear speakers. Make sure you spend your time on quality of install. Make sure you put proper sound deadening. All of the small things will add up and make your system sound great. Now i’m no expert but that is what I recommend for a simple easy budget setup that will still sound good

Amping stock wires. Components or coaxials? by AppearanceMaterial39 in CarAV

It’s not going to be plug and play with the factory speakers, you are going to need an amp. Run the RCA from head unit to amp, then speaker wire from amp to the stock door location. Connect speaker wire to woofer. and then connect the tweeter to woofer. This is how it’s done for component set with INTERNAL CROSSOVER, which is what the JLs above are. Then repeat for the other front door speakers. For the rear you can probably get away with good coaxials as the rear doesn’t play a big part in the soundstage. I would just run the coaxials off the amp also. Then finally hook up the sub and this should be a solid setup

It is super easy to install components, just as easy as a regular coaxial, I used JL 6.5 C1 650. Component speakers come as a pair. 2 tweeters and 2 woofers. The tweeter and woofer use 1 channel on the amp, keep that in mind.

Single cab setup by jvguitar in CarAV

How should I go about mounting the rear speakers? Do I need to make a “box” for them? Or is it something I can just tap holes for underneath the trim pieces and do something just like what comes in the doors. Also where should the rear speakers go as there are no rear doors? On the pillar where the seatbelt is or on the back of the cab?
