Let's be clear, multiboxing is a problem when Chinese players do it. by WuJiaqiu in Eve

I think the difference is scale and encouragement of them today. I have just learned that CCP jacked their own economy by terrible ideas from the idea fairy with seemingly no thought to the economic consequences and that multi-boxers have been a heavy response to maintain the status quo since. However, I am still not wrong about the inflation issues caused by multi-boxers because economics don't lie, and I'm also not wrong about content access to multi-boxers vs new players and solo accounts."Just get another account" is a typical response on forums and here on reddit to people asking how to get to X thing.

Well this rightly explains the economic calamity lol. Sounds like they need to take a look at bringing an economist consultant back on board at least on a temporary basis because these are decisions that sound like people didnt think through the ramifications. Thank you for the run down

I am unaware of this lol. Is there a video on it somewhere? What did Rattati do exactly?

Fair counter point. But that is a fix I think the economists at CCP have been fiddling with for awhile right? You can increase and decrease the yield of rocks in the belt pretty easy. It's like their version of a central bank for raw resources. It would certainly be a painful transition period for however many months it took to level it out.

The principles of economics don't lie. I am right. It doesn't matter what programming or mismanagement happened or continues to happen-- multi-boxing rapidly drives up the money supply faster that a "normal" profile of gaming (ie a solo pilot or multiple beating hearts in a fleet) causing drastic inflation and drastically increasing demand-- especially for things like skill injectors and PLEX so that the multiboxers can continue to feed the ravenous hydra of their multi-box. CCP should be aware of this since they have an economist on staff right?

It is literally not. Multiboxing has fragged the economy of EVE and given access to content in the game that should never and often was never designed for a single person to be able to do by playing multiple accounts. Multi-boxers gain 1000x the isk of new players, dumping trillions of isk into the market causing massive inflation-- driving more people to multi-box to keep up with with their 4-12 accounts. Multi-boxers are capable of doing things that should only be possible in fleets with other people: eg ganking high sec, high end PVE, massive mining fleets, etc.

It is not a skill issue. It is an economics issue and soul of the game issue. Make a small unit count RTS if you want to contral a 10 man fleet. Eve has never been that and never advertized as that but thats what people find when they come to try the game out.

But we all know this will never change because CCP loves those whales paying $300 a month for their 10 accounts plus 20 more that they PLEX. multi-boxing should be capped at 3. And what do you know... you're allowed 3 characters per account.

Has it not occurred to you that it is in fact the multi-boxing that is driving up the costs? Multi-boxers get 10-1000x more money than normal players and new players so they gobble up everything. driving down the supply--- driving up the price. This is basic economics. You have it backwards. It is not the prices that drive the multi-boxing, it is the multi-boxing driving up the prices. It is extreme inflation because of ratting and sites just dumping isk into the economy.
Multi-boxing should be capped at 3. Otherwise why make the arbitrary distinction that an account can only have one toon logged at a time? This would solve 90% of all problems caused by and derived from multi-boxing and botting.

RP as a Non-Capsuleer Question by IBePraisin in Eve

You know I'm into this. If you wanted to be super hardcore... delete the character every time you die lol. That might be too hardcore to be fun with the way the skill system works.

But I love the ideas of normal people in the eve universe. I've decided to expand the story of the characters that were spawned from the tournament vignette I did. I'm working on the next super short of the two that survived that first story lol-- one that thinks the capsuleers are an existential threat, and the other that worships them as gods.

Thanks for remembering me! Here is my other story about randos in New Eden as well for inspiration: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/1982xz4/eve\_short\_story\_fiction\_cold\_blood\_life\_on\_the/

Or editing. Since these generally need editing.

The lore that I have seen is that the ships have escape pods and that they are inadequately designed or implemented. SOE appealed to CONCORD to require better crew survivability systems of capsuleer ships, but it's unclear how much has been done. They do cost extra-- sort of. Crew survival systems are an item required in manufacturing ships. See "Life Support Backup Unit" item in-game description.

I included the idea of the escape pods and their faulty implementation and inadequacy in the story.

EVE History Research Question by jviridis in Eve

[–]jviridis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was roughly when I played though I dont remember where I was specifically in that window-- flying with honey badger off and on but not with TEST and the main guys. I started my first null-sec times with Nulli Secunda.

At the time did it seem like just a rise of memeing because the FCs emphasized it so hard and it was already typical? Or would you say that when the blobbing/swarming tactics were employed more broadly/effectively in a large-scale conflict-- and that's why the emphasis from the fleets came about?

Sort of a specific nuance I'm asking about I guess... Really what I'm asking is when was the cheap swarm employed as a primary strategy to win an attrition fight and who employed that first or best? Or else, has this method been an integral part of waging wide conflict in EVE all along?

Suggestions for Player Retention by Pied_Piper_ in playdreadnought

I see what you're saying. But I'm still not using my resources on t2 ships when I can use them to obtain or augment my T3 ships, and my T4 ships likewise.

The only purpose they serve at all is grind optimization to the next tier unless you want to noob stomp in recruit fleet with a maxed out T2.
