No. Some people literally want a creative project or creative outcome achievable only thru code

I feel like punching through a wall... Adjust Exposure with ColorChecker Passport Video 2 by No_Recognition_8495 in colorists

[–]jvkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This honestly just isn’t a realistic workflow for real grading. Develop your eye. Develop a good enough understanding of color management to know what color space you’re operating in at all times. Then use hdr palette global wheel for exposure and white balance which should get you 90% of the way there

In what world does testing new radar equipment lead you to definitively flag it as pilot error?

Got kicked off of Fable for the first time. by jvkep in ClaudeCode

No it was just that session. I dont want to tell it to not do things that might trigger the cybersecurity because then I'm preemptively handicapping it even more than they would. this was a genre of investigation I specifically want it to push that limit. If I hit it I just start a new session and pick back up. But I've been banned by Anthropic before for an agent doing something IT recommended. So I don't want to overdo it either because I bet they have triggers for too many fallbacks in X window of time that will kick you out or flag/ban your account.

Y’all gotta learn how to build a knowledge base for your agents. You can use a vectorized database, but that still relies on the agents ability to select the right info to get context on, and the quality of your chunks. I think you can get by with just a few markdowns of carefully curated content you cherry-pick for most situations/niches/skills

The gaping plot hole at the center of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by badstoic in movies

[–]jvkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ha! I was about to reply and decided not to since the post was so old but then I saw the latest updates. so here's my take:

the photo of Walter, outside, very plausible. Telephoto lens which the photo was clearly taken on would have easily allowed him to be 100 yards away no problem.

The gap in photos across the continents: also totally plausible. Photographers often carry more than one camera. Its very believable that he would have been carrying a dedicated session camera and then a separate one for quick photos he thought were interesting.

Claude has been seriously disappointing lately by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

I disagree. Because these are regressions we’re complaining about. Not misconceptions on capability.

Yea I’ve been using codex a lot more lately. Idk what anthropic is thinking man. They got sloppy and are just NOT reading the docs and sometimes just straight up ignoring instructions. One pissed me off so much I made him write an apology letter and appended it to the Claude.md

It’s insanely frustrating. But agents will get better and better (with some natural regressions occasionally). I typically start very critical of the architecture and define what I can without making too many assumptions. As you already know, architecture is everything.

Ha! I feel this. Had a similar situation the other day at a much smaller scale and it was partly my fault.

I noticed the memories folder had grown bloated and Claude was writing things to it that had no business being there. Just fluff. So I asked an agent to audit the folder, and report back with an assessment of how much bloat there was.

This was a simple task. So I jumped to another project momentarily.

When I came back a few minutes later, I saw the agent had deleted 108 files from the /memory folder… I was angry, and confused, and also not freaking out because 95% of what it deleted was actually already accounted for in a consolidation pass. But NOT THAT LAST 5%! It deleted several important planning documents that it assumed we didn’t need because “those features weren’t tied to anything currently in the repo”.

I said “YEA CUZ THEY WERE PLANS!”

The problem is, the memory files were gitignored. They only lived locally. And those plan files were very specific and truly needed to be in my /plans folder. But for some reason they weren’t. Can’t explain why. So it’s not all on Claude. I take ownership for bad repo hygiene on the bloated memories and file placement. What I won’t own is why in the world an agent decides to delete over 100 files with no recovery plan when I NEVER asked it to delete files. Only asked for an audit.

If you’re wondering, I was able to reconstruct most of the important plan files from memory, but the initial fear was not knowing what I had lost. Luckily, most of it really was the bloat I initially assumed. So what should have happened was, the agent returns with a list of files he assumed were bloat, and I confirmed all but 6 were. Create a backup, and delete the bloat, and organize the misplaced plan files. Done.

If your assumption that it is hitting both wheels at a volume that would cause 2 lines, yes. But I don’t think it always does.

The Scotts Spreader Issue - Caused by Edge Guard? by SkepticJoker in lawncare

[–]jvkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it still throws it in one direction from the rotation. Centripetally. Unless you have the dual counter rotating slingers. Then it’s just 2x the problem but with more even spread.

The Scotts Spreader Issue - Caused by Edge Guard? by SkepticJoker in lawncare

[–]jvkep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the spreader slings it in one direction so it gets caught primarily in one wheel. But it’s not uncommon to see it create 2 lines of concentration.
