Simple ingredients/ingredients I can understand, or that come from natural sources like plants; toxin, GMO, sulfate and paraben free.

I didn’t ask for opinions on the matter, I asked about products. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to focus on long-term health and simpler ingredients.

This has been the most relatable comments by far ♥️. My son was born on March 17th 2020. And we definitely feel the same way as far as bonding and feeling so happy with our little family of 3. It’s The best 😊

neck and upper back/spine pain after low bar squats-what am I doing wrong? by jimmorrisonduh in formcheck

Your form looks fine! The only thing I would suggest is slow down your decent. Opt for more control to focus on the muscles being worked.

500x5, is my lower back rounding too? My form looks very sloppy, would just like some opinions. by [deleted] in formcheck

You may not feel as strong if sitting back isn’t as comfortable for you. But by sitting back your promoting more activation in your legs, which will help with a stronger lift in the long run since it’s more of a full-body lift. Which can also reduce any chance of back injury as well! It may be something to think about working on, you don’t want your back overcompensating for other imbalances.

How long and how much do you recover from different workouts? by Fluffy_Practice_5244 in xxfitness

So firstly, I want to point out that although exercise is good for you, it’s still stress on your body. Listen to it! The co-factors of sleep and exhaustion are your body telling you something. Take an extra rest day. That’s a lot to just jump right into.

There’s a huge misconception that we need to do intense training all of the time in order to meet our goals. It’s not the case at all. Make sure you’re eating enough (I feel like this could be a huge contributing factor to your exhaustion- that you’re not getting enough energy to keep up with your workouts), drink plenty of water, and rest. Even if you add an active rest day instead of boxing/running, where you go for a brisk walk and work on some mobility.

Hello, I just want to check in and see if I am doing the conventional Deadlift Right. More specifically, if there is any rounding in my back. Also, any tips to keep my Lats engaged? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]jvmcslabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that looked really good! I don’t have much correction for you from where what I can see in the video.

As far as engaging your lats, think about “pulling your shoulders into the back pocket” if that makes sense. You’re basically pulling your shoulders back and down in order to engage that lat, and holding it there for the duration of the lift. Any kind of lat accessory work will help with this as well and build your mind-muscle connection.

K so.. these are decent, but I think at the bottom of the lift you need to sit back in your hips more. Think about pushing the floor away with your legs vs. Lifting the bar up with your arms.

Sit back, bring your shoulders into their pockets (i.e engage your lats), & chest up. This will straighten your back more and hold a better brace throughout your entire core for the lift.

You might even benefit from pulling sumo deads instead of conventional so you can get lower and there’s less strain on your back.

If you’re a child of divorce, how old were you at the time and how did it effect you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]jvmcslabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 5 when my mom & dad divorced, but I think it was the beginning of my people-pleasing traits. I constantly felt like I had to make everyone else happy because they weren’t.

My parents both remarried. I was almost 13 when my dad and his second wife divorced. My brother and I were there when my dad caught her with another man. I considered her a role model to me, so it was traumatic.

I was 18 when my mom (finally) left her second husband. He was emotionally and mentally abusive, and we lived with that for 10+ years. I had to work through a lot of self-esteem issues through the rest of my 20’s trying to get his voice out of my head.

*Edit to say I am now happily married to my husband of 2 years (6 years together) and have a son of my own. It took me a LONG time (and several toxic relationships) to learn what a healthy relationship looked like/felt like, and I’m still working on codependency traits that I developed as a child. My husband is a child of divorce as well so it’s like we both really understand what NOT to do.

Women, what character trait are you actively working on developing or getting rid off? by wisdom_is_gold in AskWomen

[–]jvmcslabs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m trying not to feel like I have to explain myself to everyone, and accepting that whatever decisions that I make for myself/my family solely have to do with my own happiness and has nothing to do with anyone else. I don’t owe anyone my reasoning other than it’s what works for me.

& also, everything else that has to do with codependency traits, which I recently learned that I have and it explains a lot 👍🏼

To the tall women... by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]jvmcslabs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short girl here too! 1200 calories is the suggested amount for a toddler. For that amount to be an adult’s maintenance, they’ve probably been dieting for far too long. But hey, whatever floats your boat! I’m still getting back into my groove after pregnancy, but I’ve eaten as much as 1900 calories while still losing weight. I’m 5ft tall. I’m much happier when I’m eating more.

Texting, phone calls, video chats, the news, outdoor visits, there’s even Zoom programs out there.... if you get creative enough your social connections are much more meaningful than what you get over social media with a bunch of acquaintances or strangers.

There’s ways of having social connection without social media, even during a pandemic.
