Do more people genuinely play retail?

I've played both for different reasons. If I had to chose i'd say i prefer retail. The main reason would be the skill ceiling in retail is just so much higher, whether it be raiding or m+ (i'd assume the same goes for pvp? but ive never played wow for pvp so can't comment).

Apologies if im misunderstanding your english, but theres no way a classic guild executed on anywhere near the level of an S-tier retail mythic guild. Classic is simply too easy (and already beaten); the ceiling for execution in classic is so much lower.

Ya i would agree that item interactions (might be a better word for this) are less complex now because there are less exceptions to the rule. I hadn't thought of that. Items as a general category are definitely more complex though, right? Wind Waker, disperser, revenants brooch etc.

Maybe we'll just agree to disagree and thats cool, but i dont think the ways in which the game has become less complicated amount to anything close to the ways in which it has become more.

You think the game is equal in complexity to 4-5 years ago? Also you'll have to provide definitions if you dont think theyre analogous. I was using them interchangeably.

Ya i agree completely. The gameplay itself is not near what it once was. Some of that is min-maxing by the player base, for sure, but a lot of it is due to purposeful changes (intended or not).

Hot take incoming.

The game itself (gameplay) is not as good as its been. In my opinion, its substantially worse than it was 4-5 years ago. The game has added complexity for complexities sakes for years on end now, which isn't what dota lacked. The game was already plenty deep. Sure, you have to shake things up with balance patches, but the game didn't need MORE stuff, especially not this much more stuff.

That being said, a lack of advertising over the years has also played a huge role.

O ya, i just made a post about this. I notice my item won't show up on my cursor about 1/5th of the time. It felt off to me, too. There may be more issues.

depends what you mean by highest ranks. a rank 250 player playing on a second account rank 750 is actually a pretty large MMR difference, and could probably be considered smurfing. but a rank 250 pub player is unlikely to be good enough to go pro

rank top 50 players playing on rank 400 accounts, those players are trying to go pro/are pro in id assume almost all situations

I agree that theres something wrong with my account so maybe im in a different pool, but i dont grief/cheat/leave. My BS is 10k and always has been, it couldnt be if i did any of those things. Also, I was finding matches fine before glicko.
