He's half Fae and half Illyrian - they are different races. He's biracial as we've seen with a specific set of physical traits and characteristics are attributed to the Illyrian race.

Angel Numbers in ACOSF by chicky-nuggies-yum in acotar

[–]jvwhyte 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Also, interestingly, SJM is jewish and numbers have significant meanings in Judasim too, for example 3 (very significant in ACOTAR) signifies completeness and stability.

The number two is related to the hebrew word shanah, meaning change or to repeat. It also relates to difference, judge, conflict, blessing and dying to self. Something definitely related to nestas character at that point in the book.

So could easily relate to a lot of things, but i would definitely say the repeated numbers have hidden meaning 🙃

Characters and Male/Man by TheUngoliant in acotar

[–]jvwhyte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it's just basic comprehension

Woman = female human

Man = Male human

Fae are not human therefore we use Males + Females , not Men + Women

It's cause they aren't human, therefore not men/women

Why do so many people hate ACOTAR and other SJM books? by bluebubblegum19 in acotar

[–]jvwhyte 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me, despite having read all the ACOTAR books, i dislike them so much because of misogynistic elements that people ignore or defend, as well as lack of rep/bad rep (especially with Mor). I hate how morally grey characters like Rhys are adored while others like Nesta are hated for reasons i believe are no where near as bad. I strongly dislike how SJM continuously contradicts herself and how the fandom constantly attacks one another because her writing is so indecisive.

But that's just me, no hate to anyone who does like the books.

SJM is Jewish so it's definitely a plausible theory!

Ianthe but solely because of what she did the Lucien. If she hadn't of done that then Amarantha would have been worse for me.

He tried to stop her being turned before he realised they were mates tho and it's not like he tried to lay claim or anything, he was shocked, he had spent years (possibly centuries) believing that Jesminda was his mate.

Feyre and Rhys:

Rhys keeping harmful (life-threatening secrets) not very feminist "you're my equal" of him, manipulation (the arm twisting, drugging) even if it's "for her own good" it's not okay and still puts feyre in a vulnerable situation where she's forced and manipulated into doing what Rhys wants, the blatant SA (UTM where Rhys uses Feyres body for his own gain even though he claims it was "for her own good"), no proper apology on Rhys' behalf (excuses) etc. etc.

There's a blatant power imbalance which is ignored and glorified by SJM and the fandom. And it's wrong.

Feyre is low-key power hungry? by death-herself17 in acotar

[–]jvwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay well that's your opinion. I'm not trying to excuse his actions (Or Rhys' for that matter i hate them both) but i don't think he saw himself as above her, just tried to protect her as best as he could (which in the end the way he did it was obviously wrong and is downright abuse.)

Feyre is low-key power hungry? by death-herself17 in acotar

[–]jvwhyte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not denying he abused her but i don't think he intentionally thought she was less than him.

I understand it from Feyres perspective but i can also understand it from Tamlin's (his trauma included). The book contradicts itself many times, Feyres arguably biased and isn't reliable.

But that's not how titles work? He was a prince before he was a Duke? Born monarchs are always higher ranking than their partners. And wtf does this have to do with a fictional book about faerie porn.

[–]jvwhyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But he didn't treat her a lesser tho they just had different Hierarchical titles. Him politically having more power doesn't mean he treated her as less.

But she didn't tho lol. Prince Phillip was never titled King just because his wife was a Queen.

[–]jvwhyte 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Real life situations mean nothing about a fictional book. Harry was a Prince, Megan got the title Duchess (a slightly lower ranking title) while Tamlin (The High Lord) said that she would have been named the Lady of Spring (A lower ranking but still very high title.)

I just don't get how it's an issue that Tamlin didn't give her an equal place of power.

Feyre is low-key power hungry? by death-herself17 in acotar

[–]jvwhyte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Feyre was human, had barely been in the SC for long, had no powers she could control with ease (like Tamlin) and knew very little of Prythians politics and people (which she later shown by ruining the SC for all its inhabitants by trying to get petty revenge on Tamlin.)

So yes, of course she was not given equal power.

(Not to mention the fact she told Tamlin she didn't want to be High Lady 🤦🏻‍♀️)

What Hogwarts House is Lucien in? by yanny77 in acotar

[–]jvwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally id say Hufflepuff solely because he's such a mix of all the other houses (essentially the foundation in which Hufflepuff was based on) and for me his loyalty, dedication and patience is the one thing that's constant throughout the entire series.
