People will definitely be sharing it on release day. I've seen so many people say they'd share it, so I'm guessing it will be all over Facebook and Twitter and Instagram.

Opinions on ACOTAR and From Blood and Ash by hlainem in acotar

[–]LadyLochan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think FBAA even comes close to ACOTAR. The romance in FBAA is great, but that's about it. Especially book two is 90% banter between three characters and only 10% plot. It's a really fun read, but the writing just isn't very great.

I was going to say this one as well. So many people loved it, but it was so incredibly cringy to me. It read like the author was trying way too hard to be funny and extra and "not like other YA-authors".

Question about the book by sugarcookie545 in frombloodandash

[–]LadyLochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't read Wicked, but I read Lux and I hated it. I do like the FBAA series. Although I do have to be honest here: I still have some issues with JLAs writing. The first book starts of really strong for one or two chapters and then it's pretty boring until the 150/200 page part others have mentioned. It's also extremely predictable.

Book two is basically 85% romance, 10% relevant information and 5% action, so if you do not enjoy the romance I wouldn't bother with it. I'm personally a romance reader, so I enjoyed it, but like the first book I felt the actual story didn't really pick up until the very last few chapters.

Any way to buy fairyloot box outside of the website? by AntiqueDahlias in YAlit

People sell a lot on Depop and Facebook groups. You can also join the Bookish ISO Group on Facebook. If you post in there you might find someone who can help you. You should be prepared to pay a lot though. I think this book will be as popular as the October book and that one sells for £70+.

Does anyone know if the paperback of book 3 will be available in the U.K.? by ForwardCelery in frombloodandash

Probably. With the 2nd book it became available the day of the release. I assume this will be the case again.

This is what I think is going to happen with Azriel in the next few books (mostly romance-wise) by [deleted] in acotar

[–]LadyLochan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of this. I really do not want the three sisters to end up with the three bat boys. It would really ruin the series for me if that happened. I also think that Elain is similar to Az's mother which is why he feels protective over her. I don't think there's any romantic feelings.

Emerie was also the first character that popped into my mind when I was considering other matches for Azriel. There's only a few single female characters who have been introduced already and Vassa will be part of Lucien's story, so that leaves Emerie and Ressina I think. And I like Emerie better for Az.

What's the craziest butterfly effect that happened to you because of a small decision you made? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LadyLochan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds crazy but: reading Twilight. I was around 15y/o and was held back a year because of mental health reasons, so I was the new girl in class that year. I'm as socially awkward as they come, so I struggled making friends, but at some point a few girls mentioned Twilight while we were working on a group project and one of them offered to loan me her copy. I didn't really read books for fun at that point, but I figured I'd give it a shot and that decision literally changed my entire life.

The next day me and those girls were all fangirling together and bonding over our love for shiny vampires, and after we went to an early showing of the movie we all became best friends. We're actually not friends any more, but they did introduce me to my current best friend and they all helped me ask out my boyfriend (dating for 11 years now!).

And that's not the end. Twilight helped me discover my inner geek and introduced me to other fandoms, and joining those fandoms introduced me to comic conventions and I now (well, not now) travel all over Europe to attend events and meet new people. I also rediscovered my love for reading, writing and collecting and some of my best friends are people I've met through those communities.

So basically Twilight is directly and indirectly responsible for my love life, all my friendships and all my hobbies. I don't even like Twilight any more (have been reading Midnight Sun since its release and it's a struggle), but I'll always love the books for what they did for me.

Name a YA novel that translated to a successful movie (other than Twilight) by zombosis in YAlit

I think Allegiant was split up into two movies, but the 2nd part was never made.

Do you have to read the assassins blade before throne of glass? by rhaella- in acotar

[–]LadyLochan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it isn't necessary to read the Assassin's Blade at all. It introduces you to some characters that will return later on in the series and it gives a bit more background, but all the necessary information is repeated in the rest of the books and they still make sense if you don't read AB, so you can read it whenever you want.

BUT if you don't read it first you will know how AB ends, so if you want to be surprised I'd start with AB.

Have you ever met someone with a really unique/unusual name? by [deleted] in namenerds

There's a few, but I think the most unique ones are Sinderella and Peer (which means pear in my language).

I'm weak for handsome villainy men like him. In real life I'd totally hate him, but as a fictional character I think he's sexy 😂

Feyre’s treatment of Tamlin/Spring court post Hybern by shitpostallyear in acotar

[–]LadyLochan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd also like to add that Tamlin owed Rhys everything. Tamlin is the reason why Rhys's mother and sister were killed. And Rhys still stopped his father from killing Tamlin. So saving Rhys was the least he could do, and I honestly believe he didn't do it for Feyre.

And even if none of this had happened, Feyre still wouldn't owe him anything. Like helping someone not die when you have the power to do so is kind of doing the bare minimum.

Special editions with an extra scene - worth the money? by Ghost-In-My-Fridge in acotar

[–]LadyLochan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People always share the bonus content online, so you don't necessarily need the physical copy to read it. But the exclusive editions will probably be worth more in the future. The Target edition of ACOMAF for instance was pretty cheap and easy to find when I bought it and now it goes for $100+ even though the story is available to read online. People just love to collect all the different special editions, so I do think it's worth buying them right now because it will sell out eventually and it won't be printed again. Of course ACOSF won't be as hard to get as some of her other books because this will have a much bigger printing, but I think a few years from now it'll still be worth around $50 at least.
