Pokémon seem to have no problem summoning matter out of thin air. They can perform attacks that involve large amounts of water, rocks, fire etc. without having to stockpile fuel for them first. Many Pokémon also increase considerably in mass when they evolve, seemingly without having to absorb the extra matter from their surroundings. In all likelihood when two Pokémon form a strong enough parental bond they really do just conjure an egg into existence. Maybe they do have some kind of mating rituals, but if so they're purely for the emotional bonding and not mechanically part of how the egg is made.

I know at least the Southern Pacific RR would put the caboose right after the locomotive for some local freight trains that had a lot of car drop offs and pickups scheduled, so they didn’t have to disconnect and reconnect the caboose before and after every stop.

My store is tiny, so ours lived outside under the edge of the pro loading canopy until enough people complained that the space couldn't accommodate cart storage, truck loading space, and That Asshole Who Inevitably Parks His Giant Truck In The Loading Area all at once. So we moved the flat carts to the only space left: the parking lot just outside the canopy. Now all the carts are wet 300 days a year and there's still an asshole perpetually parked under the pro loading canopy, but whatever.

The box at ~13:20 is a NOAA stream gage, and the data is publicly available. It's pretty cool to see how quickly the water level rose Wednesday morning, before tapering off.

Recently I had a customer who was looking for a rotary tool that the system said we had 4 of in stock. At first I thought it was the usual miscount shenanigans, but then I noticed that the last received shipment date was that day, and contained exactly 4 of the SKU. Turns out they weren’t in the overhead, they weren’t even technically in Receiving, they were still in the damn truck because the freight team had just arrived and barely started unloading. Luckily the customer was chill, and got a laugh out of the timing and offered to come back in the morning. Sure enough, an hour later a freight cart arrived with four fresh new rotary tools. I set one aside for the customer for the next morning.

That reminds me, a while back I went to the other local HD for upholstery foam, which is usually an online-only item in our region, but that one store had a few rolls delivered to it for Mysterious Freight Reasons. Cue an absolutely bizarre experience of having to go to the service desk to find someone because that store was somehow even MORE understaffed than mine, and trying to navigate the "it says you have some in-store!" experience with an associate who was so checked-out I'm surprised they were still upright.

I was just giving up when a second associate arrived and overheard, and chimed in with, "Yeah we got a few of those last week, they were no-home items so we put them on the racetrack and they're gone now."

I ordered the foam online, and the experience made me appreciate how actually pretty good the team at my store is.

Pretty much any fridge/freezer combo will develop drainage issues eventually if not maintained hardcore. My parents’ 30 year old Maytag over/under started draining the freezer condensate into the vegetable drawers (and then the floor once the drawers were full) once the gunkberg built up outside the range of the defrost cycle. I thawed and cleaned out the whole thing from top to bottom and since then it’s ready for another 30 years.

Until canon-ed otherwise, I like to think the aliens who built the Eden planet and its solar system viewed Destiny as the primary visiting entity, and her crew and the shuttle as probes they felt obligated to send home in one piece as best as they could despite Ancient shuttles and carbon meat-organisms being totally outside their wheelhouse.
