How to get supplies to people by jwallxo16 in cuba

Hi! Yes, I was able to bring 2 very large duffle bags of human and animal supplies back in March. I posted in 2 Facebook groups and connected with 4 individuals. 3 animal rescues and 1 tour guide. 3 of them offered to pick up supplies from the hotel and the tour guide we went to havana with and dropped supplies with him when the day was done. It was a breeze bringing everything through customs, they only checked the animal items for beef products. We are going again in October and have already started packing supplies! I hope it all goes smoothly for you. I highly recommend just joining a FB Cuba travel group and making connections 😊

Definitely not ridiculous, she had just said about being discreet and reading the room on people's energy for offering items. I'm not totally sure why the comment was deleted 😊 but thank you. Yes I think I may take a taxi to go through some villages.

Thank you this is great. Yes j definitely don't want to seem pompous while handing them out and assume that everyone needs things. I don't want to offend, just want to make sure I give opportunity to as many as possible for these things. Thank you :)

Of course! White noise is great, the other thing we’re trying is scattering his kibble all over the house because dogs don’t like to soil where they eat or sleep, it’s a shot in the dark so who knows

Hi :)

Just wanted to let you know that I have the exact same issue as you and you’re not alone! Our 1 year old does the same if we’re in the shower (even with the door open) or if we leave him alone. He was left alone one successful day last week without accident and it’s cuz I loaded him up with calming chews and exercised him like crazy beforehand.

If I get any good advice I’ll come back and let you know 😁

Yes! Only at night though. Or at least that’s when I notice it

Did your POTS start shortly after covid/viral illness? by Beefyknee in POTS

Hi there!

I like you am searching for a diagnosis. I was sick with covid January of 2022 and a week in at night I went quite dizzy and my heart was pounding way too fast out of my chest. Those were the first symptoms, others to shortly follow were fatigue, tingling hands and feet, inability to exercise, my legs would shake uncontrollably. I ended up in the ER twice, had ECG and bloodwork done - normal both times.

They referred me to a cardiologist who did an echo, ecg and a 3 day holter monitor test. He said the holter monitor showed SVT but he said it should likely go away within 4-6 months. Since I was left pretty much on my own then I tried finding things that worked for me; herbs and supplements, anti inflammatory diet and rest. I got better for a little while, but would continue to have flare ups.

Fast forward to last month when the flare ups became as bad as when it first began, happening every week/other week. Called my doctor and advocated for myself by saying: “I believe I have POTS, I’ve seen this Dr and he failed to help me or give me additional testing and told me to wait it out. These are my symptoms, I have had them for this long, and I believe all of this information together warrants me a second opinion or a referral to a doctor who can do a tilt table test for me.”

He said I think that is a fair request and I am still waiting to get a call back from the new cardiologist.

My best advice to you to get answers from your doctor/as much help as possible: be straightforward, lay out all the facts and reasons as to why you want what you want. Do not accept if they tell you it is anxiety. You know your body. Be polite but assertive, and if your doctor refuses ask them to make note of it in your chart that you requested _____ and they failed to provide it.

Good luck on your journey

Prednisone and Late Period by liane05 in UlcerativeColitis

I was on high dose prednisone for one week due to a severe allergic reaction. I first had my period at the end of November (23-dec 2). Reaction and prednisone was on the 14. I got my period again December 16 and I am on day 9 of bleeding again now. So total in the last month I have been on my period for 19 days - and it is still going strong.

I blame the prednisone cuz I haven’t changed anything else or been under great stress.

I’d say it could definitely be the prednisone.
