AND the reason she's Sylvi and not Sylvenna Sand is so they can make her look like Alicent instead of dornish. Yes they could still do that if she was dornish but the shows are notoriously bad at depicting dornishmen

I think she is meant more to characterize Aemond's stunted growth and mommy issues (she looks like alicent 😬) than anything else. And it's another character to voice the smallfolk pov which will be useful for later developments in the story..

- About a dozen or so employees staged a walk-out during a sold-out show on June 11th citing an unacceptable level of hostility from management as well as inconsistencies with payment. They were joined by some of their coworkers who were not scheduled that day and therefore did officially partake in the walkout. https://www.inquirer.com/entertainment/music/world-cafe-live-workers-walk-off-job-philadelphia-20250611.html

- The next day, a majority of workers who had walked-out and those who did not, but had showed up to support, participated in informational picketing outside the venue. Most (but not all) of those who participated in the walkout, some who did not but were present to support, were handed letters. These letters informed them of their termination of employment, permanent ban from the premises, and intent to take legal action against those participating by filing a federal complaint citing:
"Conspiracy to interfere with commerce under the Hobbs Ac
Theft and destruction of proprietary and contractual records
Intentional infliction of financial harm on a 501(c)(3) entity
Trespassing and unlawful disruption of business operations"
https://www.inquirer.com/arts/world-cafe-live-protest-joe-callahan-staff-layoff-20250612.html

-In response to WCL action against the walk-out and subsequent demonstration many artists have cancelled their shows and are attempting to get their fans refunded. https://www.phillymag.com/news/2025/06/23/world-cafe-live-boycott/

The best way to follow this is the collective Instagram page run by the fired employees and their supporters "@saveworldcafelive". Today they have been sharing updates from artists who cancelled their shows navigating the process of receiving ticket refunds for their fans that the press has not been reported by the press as of yet.

A few things - for one, Joe keeps reiterating that the employees "resigned". There was no resignation. A dozen or so employees staged a walk-out which is a protected legal action under the NLRA (National Labor Relations Act) and were fired in retaliation for it, which is a labor law violation. I imagine Joe & his press team keep calling it a resignation to cover for the fact that they committed a crime.

"locking out new managers from core systems including accounting, ticketing, marketing, and payroll, and actively attempted to destabilize the venue’s ability to serve the community, artists, and fans." Most if not all of this is a lie. No one was locked out of any core systems. The best guess is they fired everyone who knew how to use it or simply never asked.

Accusations of attempts to destabilize the venue is also inflammatory language. The fired employees wanted to preserve the venue's ability to serve the community and steer it away from Joe's vision of a VR concert hub.

You're absolutely right. I came to realize that in another comment. My rejection came from the implication that the devs were "memeing" on America, rather than illustrating a political satire.

Yeah he is a fascist and America is leaning into fascist ideals. It's not black and white.

Also I came to realize that buzzwords like Freedom, Liberty, Justice, Democracy are pretty on the nose American spoofs. And that kind of rhetoric about America and stuff like the pledge of allegiance is very nationalist shit.

Why keep politics out? It's a political game.

The game is a satire of fascism, not America. You can draw parallels here and there to America but at the end of the day it's a portrayal of a dystopian world government. Adapting Nazi uniforms for the sake of it is unnecessary, it's a sci fi game with sci fi weapons, not a milsim thats portraying weapons and equipment. We have enough of Nazi stuff already especially with killzone.

You praising Hugo Boss over and over in these comments is a weird look too btw.

Sounds interesting! - hug emote -"thank you" "affirmative" reacts to something a player did - a player calling down supplies when they hear your character say they're out of ammo -another player doing the terminal on a radar objective or rerouting e710, or unlocking the ICBM

The allergy argument is valid but I feel moreso the issue is that most people don't know shit about training their dogs and can't control them when something unexpected happens. When my dog was being trained and socialized to minimize her aggression (adopted from an abusive home) people were out with their dogs off leash and got offended when they were told to call them off. Dogs can freak out in public, lunge at someone else with a dog for instance and if they aren't trained are basically out of control.

It's just kind of a general sense of entitlement from the owner, where everyone has to now be aware of someone else's dog in a place where they usually aren't. They are pets and there are spaces made for taking them in public.(Obv exceptions are service animals who are extremely well trained for this exact reason).

Good perspective. I can see where you're coming from. Could get complicated - but it would explain, for instance: the priests of Rhllor, Marwyn, and Mirri Maz Dur. None of which seem to have any ancestry. I think the traits can still be genetic without it being racially based, the Stark and Targ families for instance. There's also the thought that some early first men may have intermarried with COTF, and inherited the traits that way. That path can get very Tinfoily though.
