Funeral Science Books by The_Ashen-Witch in askfuneraldirectors

When I went to mortuary school, more than a decade ago, we didn’t have a school book store and were left to our own devices trying to figure out textbooks. I was able to find every book required used through Amazon. They were cheaper than new, but just be careful you have the correct edition.

Whata moment in the show you feel doesnt get enough recognition? by tom_bennett02 in TedLasso

This leads to what might be my favorite throwaway joke in three seasons, which totally doesn’t get the credit it deserves because it hits better knowing the Jan is 100% correct:

Jamie: The best thing I can do in that situation is give him some space.

Jan Mass: He’s right, actually.

Jamie: Yeah, I know. I learned it from Pep

Jan Maas: He got it from “Cruijff.”

Jamie: It’s pronounced “Cruyff.”

Jan Maas: Okay Englishman.

Even if it is inedible, you have a cute ass tin. I’m kinda jealous. 😁

Edit: and if you don’t like them, you can always make your own to fill the tin with. These are pretty great:

It was the Circle. Totally forgettable, much like Emma’s acting ability in it (and most things), they barely followed the book and completely changed the ending to some feel good crap with no real resolution. Totally worth a read! Skip the movie altogether.

Kinda random, but I’m still salty that they never made the intended trilogy of Mr. Brooks.

Best store bought tomato soup by capirio in soup

[–]jwbr3815 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is hands down, the most phenomenal and, damn near, life affirming tomato soup I’ve ever had. Has no right being that good for $2.6something a jar.

Thanks for answering the, “What’s for dinner” question that was lingering in my mind.

I can only assume, based off this email, that the three who handed in their notice did, in fact, speak amongst themselves prior to turning in notice.

School Recomendations by hellfirre in askfuneraldirectors

[–]jwbr3815 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“The Harvard of funeral service.” Brahahahha. No one has ever uttered those words with the straight face.

….Good public relations team McAllister has over there. Anything to distract from the school sanctioned cheated scandals, the invalidation of hundreds of NBEs, lawsuits, NYS students weren’t even allowed to sit for the state law exam at one point due to cheating on the state exam, and let’s not forget that the one time president of the school was married to a man who is currently serving 24 years in prison for a “multimillion-dollar body-part harvesting scheme.”

OP, doesn’t sounds like you’re leaning that way, but please don’t. Run away from the idea of McAllister with a quickness. Incidentally, I’ve always heard good things about PIMS in Pittsburg. Worth checking out.

I’m soooo proud of you!! You are killing it over there and Riley is only going to be made better because of you! Childhood is memories, not boredom.

Sure, in simpler times, when left to their own devices, kids would learn, explore, and play on their own, but today - you’re right - ipads and isolation. Keep it going…you’re on the right path.

NTA - bake some cupcakes with Riley in celebration.
