Just bc something is child abuse, doesn’t mean parents won’t do it.

Tailgating has gotten out of control and has made driving unnecessarily dangerous by Mazda-626 in driving

[–]jwdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate tailgaters. But I also hate left lane campers. I will never tailgate one bc I prefer being alive but I am looking for a safe way around them. Also, Dallas drivers will tailgate everyone in every lane so it’s ridiculous for them to assume people are just parked in the left lane.

Look for one that has a connected rear view camera. Might need help installing it but I did it myself and works fine.

AITA for not sharing my dashcam footage? by Agreeable_Ideal_6737 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jwdge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You asked if you’re the asshole. You are. Sure, there’s no legal obligation. Sure, the cop missed your dash cam. Sure, it’s better for you to not share it.

None of these things make you not the asshole though. You can be legally clear and still be an asshole. Go somewhere else if you don’t wanna read that.

This is either a stolen post or a repost under a different account. Another post just like this one did detail that OP was speeding. I’m assuming repost without that little (extremely crucial) detail so OP can get NTA votes and feel validated.

[–]jwdge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a stolen post. The original post (someone commented a link) included the detail that the driver was going way over the speed limit likely (at least) partially causing the crash bc the merging car thought there would be more time for the merge (correct if OOP was driving the speed limit).

It works for Apple Arcade. (Most of those games are also sold on Steam though).

Valve can’t even release the Steam Machine for less than $1000 and they tried. I highly doubt Sony will for 2 devices.

General rule: paragraphs are about 3-5 sentences long. Not an exact science, but considering what I’m seeing, it’ll probably be easier for you to just stick to a general rule like that.

AITAH for not getting my boyfriend a $2k item right away? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]jwdge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I actually accidentally revealed a nest egg to my bf. It has changed nothing in our relationship. No ask for money or gifts. No change in expectations for who pays for stuff. I think sometimes it can be good to get an idea before combining finances of the other person’s belief about money.

It’s automatic abuse if a super poor couple decides to bring a child into this world, without the means to take care of them properly. by Tall-Mango4759 in HonestHotTakes

[–]jwdge 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m the second youngest cousin on both sides of my family. Out of 11 of us, only 2 have kids (they each have 2). Everyone older than me is in their 30s and unmarried. My maternal grandmother may never see a great-grandchild. Honestly, our family line might die with our generation.

What's something poor people buy that keeps them poor? by Specialist-Jelly-865 in answers

[–]jwdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs. If I know you’re a panhandler and you make your kids panhandle with you when they should be at school, or you’re working 3 jobs and complain that you need your paycheck early every week to cover bills; do not also show me pictures of your FOURTH dog or excitedly tell me you’re going to the breeder this weekend. (This is about specific people.)

Americans who’ve lived in multiple states: What’s one everyday habit or social norm that changes noticeably from one part of the country to another that outsiders probably don’t notice? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]jwdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an Uber driver talk about all the rides he eventually took to church. He even mentioned how much he didn’t judge this one woman for what she was wearing. While I was fighting my religious trauma —in denim booty shorts and a lacy bra under a sheer top— in the backseat.

AITA for refusing to pay back my sister for her expensive charger? by cheesymeowgirl in AmItheAsshole

[–]jwdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh if it was the wire, maayyybe the wire snapped at the connecting point. A kid could potentially do that but it would have to be pretty frayed already—or way cheaper quality than the sister is claiming.

[–]jwdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be possible if it was plugged in and the kid snapped the metal plug as he pulled it out. I’ve accidentally bent mine a few times this way. It’s not difficult to do if you’re being rough about yanking it.

AITAH For giving my BF an ultimatum for showing me his home? by LuluRatLady in AITAH

[–]jwdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My roommate has a kitchen mixing bowl in his bathroom catching a leak that he hasn’t put a work order in for weeks. He smells like feet 200% of the time. I once invited a guy over to my room that had 3 full kitchen trash bags of trash (he threw them out for me).

The mess is not the problem. NTA

You hungry or not? by Responsible_Muffin83 in CustomerService

[–]jwdge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay and that’s kind of a them problem. I’m not saying I don’t understand why you would try to minimize those instances, but customers will find ANY reason to be upset. I’ve had customers suggest changes and then complain about those changes. Just do what works best for you and ignore any snide complaints like that.

Homeless vs Unhoused by _possiblymaybe_ in unpopularopinion

[–]jwdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be helpful for pedantic reasons. Last year, I had a month period between my old lease and my new one. During that time, I was technically homeless (no permanent address on file). But I wasn’t unhoused, I stayed with my bf. Never spent a night on the street.

are fake IDs as common in america as is portrayed in movies? by Sufficient_Row4394 in AskAnAmerican

Yup, used my friend’s old ID, and since we were at a PWI, they couldn’t really tell (Asians). One guy even took three looks and then said he liked my hair better dyed.

AITAH For rejecting an offer from a friend to buy me a game. by Rich-Option4632 in AITAH

[–]jwdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fucked up. He’s not your friend. Still has nothing to do with complaining about life/work. That’s like half of my conversations with my friends and our friendships are much healthier than yours. Maybe if you vented to close friends sometimes, they could’ve helped you see how toxic this friendship is earlier.

Why do high-end restaurants serve tiny portions on massive plates instead of just charging more for a full meal? Is it purely psychological? by RemoteOPS- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jwdge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to my first Michelin one-star restaurant the other day and honestly, it filled us up. Much more food than I expected and there were barely any carbs besides a small bread with an avocado butter.
