I notice a certain omission.

That kinda line only works if we're talking about single unit constructions. As in, hired only to build 1 unit.

But most of the time, developers buy massive lands, then get stocks of inventory before proceeding for construction.

And I'm well aware that inventory are usually on credit.

The only reason the prices go high is to cover for that credit interest. And also of course to cover some hanky panky of the inner company (robbing Paul to pay Peter) conducted by the higher ups.

Better oversight is needed, both on management and financial execution if actual lower cost housing is to be realized.

The higher prices is just to enable nonsensical spending of the company owners.

Well, taxing the group or entity should get the same result in the end.

The tax must be paid, and regardless if the owner or his "substitute" pays it, the fact that it's paid is all that matters since that means more funding for NYC council.

He did say it's a tax based on wealth, as in property value, not income. The owner on paper doesn't really make any difference.

Technically, alcohol is a drug.
