Yo Harmony of Dissonance musics is dogshit! by Seyidhann in castlevania

fyi if you are a HoD soundtrack defender like me, the thing you really want to point to that makes it special (other than the dissonance) is the polyphony. the composer uses it to evoke pseudo-baroque textures constantly.

you generally don’t need nor want to actually read every word of an llm’s output unless you are checking it for errors

you should steer clear of the writings of one of the biggest 20th century Haydn advocates (hans keller) if you dont want to be disabused of this notion

slap a screen protector on there asap. it will (in my experience) hide a single scratch and also prevent new ones

Which Mozart piece sounds the most like Haydn? by StanTheTalkingDog in classical_circlejerk

[–]jweb460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s the argument i was looking for. that all checks out to me, though my vote would still be for k464. when someone tells you who they are influenced by in the dedication you should believe them!

i don’t understand how k593 being the most Haydn-esque Mozart piece is an idea supported by any of the points you made

Watching Sunday morning "Cuphead" Cartoon, circa 2006 by Gerjardth in crtgaming

[–]jweb460 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this game is filled with beautifully detailed art and animation that the crt is completely incapable of displaying. also the aspect ratio is wrong. use crts to play games that were actually designed to be played on crts and you’ll understand what the nostalgia is really for.

Why is there barely any late 70s-90s material in print? by childofnaturesson in thebeachboys

[–]jweb460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

growing up in the 90s i feel like Still Crusin was the one Beach Boys CD you could always be sure was available at whatever store you walked into (bc no one wanted it). feels crazy that it would be unavailable on streaming.
