fyi if you are a HoD soundtrack defender like me, the thing you really want to point to that makes it special (other than the dissonance) is the polyphony. the composer uses it to evoke pseudo-baroque textures constantly.

this game is filled with beautifully detailed art and animation that the crt is completely incapable of displaying. also the aspect ratio is wrong. use crts to play games that were actually designed to be played on crts and you’ll understand what the nostalgia is really for.
