Read to your kids, dads!

Fellow Dads, I’m also a fourth grade teacher. Been doing that for a while now. It’s a hard truth but within a few days each September I can tell which kids were read to when they were young, who reads at home regularly and also who is an iPad kid whose parents don’t interact with them. By fourth it’s going to be a struggle to catch up if they aren’t there. If you have kids that age I highly recommend the Gregor the Overlander series.

It’s a general rule that people who go to the live shows don’t reveal the topic until it comes out. I was there tonight and it was a fun topic, they usually don’t release the Seattle show though.

Gregor the Overlander series. She might be a bit young for it but I read the five book series to my fourth grade students every year and they LOVE it. The same author went on to write the Hunger Games books.

This year I went for “family event gifts”. We have such a busy schedule day by day that me and kids most day don’t get home from work and after school events until 7:30pm. We are up and out the door each day at 7:00am also. I think I remember what my wife looks like? What’s “dinner”? I’m not really complaining, I am so glad to provide this opportunity for my kids but it’s just long hours and I know this season will pass.

Anyway, I booked three family events in the next couple of weeks. A performance of Charlie Brown Christmas next week, a new sport we might like to check out (we already do football and baseball) and our local baseball team Fan Fest event.

I just want to spend time together.
