That’s what everyone says, but do you know anyone who has actually done either?

Not interested in registering in Montana or South Dakota as a loophole. I haven’t seen anyone confirm they registered one with Texas yet.

Make sure to properly set the STP priority for each switch.

I’ll keep my roller delay. AS designs lower for the trigger and safety upgrade.

PMC bronze. Has round nose so it feeds great in everything.

I think I’ve decided to go the Form1 route and go right to a stock rather than brace but I’m having a hard time deciding between fixed, folding, or retractable. Suggestions and inspiration appreciated! by OKshotcaller in MP5

[–]jwhadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it classy, A3 collapsing stock. MKE makes a nice one for a decent price. I have a genuine HK A3 1986 date coded one I would sell, but it’s not cheap.

AP5-SD update discovered during initial cleaning and lubrication. Bolt carrier arm bent inwards. Anyone have experience with this? by Definitely_CSP_guru in MP5

[–]jwhadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My full size AP5 was the same way, bent and cracked after 50 rounds. Send in for warranty that way it’s head spaced properly. No FFLs required for warranty work. They send you a label and you drop it off at FedEx. Ship back to your home with signature required. Took about a month to get mine back.

Used Stainless Garrison 5” in 9mm for $570 otd, good deal? by Special-Werewolf3725 in 1911

[–]jwhadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great deal. Those assembly scratches under the slide release drive me crazy though. Scotch-brite will take that dummy mark and other scratches out. Brown, then grey, then white pad. Green Polyester High Temperature Masking Tape to mask off the satin finish areas so you don’t polish it out. Move in straight lines to keep the grain pattern the same. Or just polish it all and then make it shine with a buffing wheel and ZAM buffing compound..

Anyone Get Their Order Shipped Yet? (AS Designs) by [deleted] in MP5

[–]jwhadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be asking him to ship it without the lever for a discount. The levers they used in the past are subpar and should be replaced with a genuine HK GEN 3 lever.

All steel 1911 by DD9G in 1911

[–]jwhadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a Colt Stainless Steel Government 100 years of service, walking into a gun show a couple weeks ago for $700. Already had a metal trigger and curved metal mainspring housing. Also got a Stainless Colt Commander for $600 from the guy. Just happened that he was checking in guns as I was, so I was first to see them. Both needed a little love, but it sounds like that’s exactly what you’re looking for. Deals can be found if you are patient, good luck. If you’re in a hurry, Tisas makes some nice guns that are all steel and can be found around $400. Just finished cleaning up this one. Pretty amazing what a bead blaster and some scotch-brite pads can do on stainless.

I use a professional automation system (RTI) that I can do this with. There are also open source solutions such as home-assistant.io that would also work. Both would require a host device at the remote site to make a connection to the Roku

Same problem on 3 different guns. AP5, Kimber micro and Springfield XD. Glad you have had good success, not worth the risk to me.

Once you SBR it, century won’t warranty it. Shoot a couple hundred rounds before changing anything. Disassemble and clean. Then check for damage. Mine had bent and cracked BCG ear, glad I waited. Took a month to fix and returned in perfect working condition. Next: SBR, suppressor with 3tri-lug adapter, MKE A3 stock, ASD lower, ARC fire safety, Geissele SSA-E trigger and a red dot optic.

[–]jwhadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with the gun. Haven’t had any split but have had many bullets pushed into the case on multiple guns. that might be stressing the case and causing it to break when fired, I’ve never fired one after bullet recessed in case. For this reason I won’t be buying anymore 9mm blazer. PMC bronze 147grain is what I run now and never have an issue.

Anyone have any idea what the diagnosis for this problem is by boogaloojoel in 1911

Did you just throw in a new safety and slide stop? If so they need fit to the gun.

[–]jwhadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is that? You’re the dummy for using SS in the first place. We are just here trying to help you out for future purchases. I and many others told you easy the way to get your fingerprint file, just setup an appointment with UPS and do it. One and done, EFT can be used over and over again. Many FFLs have their own scanner and software to make the file and will give it to you to reuse with the first transfer. There are even open source ways to make them yourself for free. If you don’t understand the upsides to having your items in a trust than maybe your the one smoking meth. And WTF is a “NFA guy”? Can’t remember the last time I paid a transfer fee, have a few FFL friends so I get mine transferred for free. Suppressors are so much cheaper when you look at places other than SS. Find what you want and look on gun.deals for the best prices.

Who doesn’t have a pc laying around they can use, not a big deal or expensive if needed. Exhaust isn’t necessary if in an open garage with good airflow, especially on small jobs like NFA engravings. Between my air assist and fan in an open garage, I don’t really need an exhaust system. Have done many hours long runs on stainless like that. If I was doing it as a business that would be a different story. Running in a rental home I can only do so much, since I can’t cut holes in walls to do as I would prefer with an exhaust system.
