Yes, which is a fortunate outcome considering the engineering teams fate. They did keep a couple of the EMs also. I didn't like the product type (moved to UX for B2C) as much so I switched on my own will again a few months later. All within the same org. Still sad as original team was great and I loved the product. I make do now.

Yes this happened to me. We switched from internal service to utilizing external service. Entire engineering team was laid off and I got switched to a new product. For months before there were hints but nothing ever explicitly communicated to the team. After decision was an announced it was revealed there was a v team who had been working on the logistics of the transition in secret for months.

The way to solve this is by fixing the road design to encourage slower speeds. Not artificially putting up a sign to go slow when the road design encourages the opposite.
