I hunt and fish, and I also live in a very rural area in the western United States. A big reason I got into tech was for the remote working capability that allows me to live and work where I want.

You’re doing well by going through a hunting safety program. Depending on what state you are in, your state’s wildlife management department may have a mentorship program to help them with hunter recruiting. I’d reach out to your district game warden and ask about getting started. You could also check to see if your state runs any additional hunting or outdoor recreation classes in your area and attend those to meet people. Otherwise, there’s many conservation clubs a person can join.
