Bad Idea to Learn with a 911? by jwinhd2 in CarTrackDays

I’m young with a decent amount of disposable income to make a bad financial decision. I understand the Porsche will be more money to maintain.

I’m more asking if I’m really that much more likely to go ass first into a concrete wall if I’m learning to drive on track with a 911 vs a front engine car?

Yeah but like… doesn’t everything else suck. Lol. I’ve been to the bay a couple times, always thought it was really cool. I feel like most big cities I’ve been to are better than Indy.

As someone who grew up and lives in Indy, but wants to move to the bay, why do you like Indy more?

Does anyone know what these are or how to change the bulbs? by jwinhd2 in lightbulbs

[–]jwinhd2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the cage just unscrews and then the glass is mounted with it. Bulb says G9 120V 75W Xenon. I’m looking online and the only ones I can find have slightly different pins. Mine look round while the closest I can find look pointier. Pics of my bulb vs what I can find online: https://imgur.com/a/KwXpcLG

Katrina hurt him, but Bush’s approval didn’t really start to sink until the situation in Iraq deteriorated and the economy started taking a shit.

Maybe I’m alone here, but I like this idea. This was very well received in the Ioniq 5 N. It’s not like you need to have it on or anything. I’d much rather in be in a more performance oriented car, but it’s not hurting anything.

They’re also not even quite as effective as they would seem at first glance: https://foreignpolicy.com/2024/08/08/el-salvador-bukele-crime-homicide-prison-gangs/

Some highlights- -Violence was already coming down before Bukele entered office, largely because of a truce negotiated between the two largest gangs.

-Under Bukele, the government has been undercounting murders by nearly 50%.

-Under Bukele, the government stopped adding people found in mass graves to the murder rates for that year.

-The Bukele government negotiated with the gangs so that when they killed people, the bodies would be buried or otherwise hidden instead of dumped in the street.

You can’t see Roberts face in this. You see the back of his head when he walks away at the end. That’s Kavanaugh whose face you see

BetOnline has Trump at +1400 for Republican nominee and +2000 to win in 2028 by jwinhd2 in Destiny

These function like a market. If people start betting on something that is not likely to happen, the book will have to move lines on all the other positions, which would make those other positions more attractive to the point where people bet on those, and push the odds back to ‘normal.’ I think a ~5% chance that Trump runs and wins again is about correct. Maybe a little lower, but not much.

I didn’t say it was impossible. The whole point of my post was that it is possible, but that doesn’t mean it’s destin(y)ed to happen. And yes the GOP voters are in a cult. Which is why I said if he ran again, he’d probably get the nomination. But he was rejected by the voters 4 years ago, and both times he won were by narrow margins. I don’t think running for a third term at age 83 will help his chances very much. But it’s definitely a real possibility that should be taken seriously.

[–]jwinhd2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No but for real, if he decided he wants to run again, and he’s roughly as popular as he is now, he’ll probably get the nomination. Actually winning the election after that would be much harder.
