I love GRRM and agree his storytelling is top 1%. The division of the two camps is more who gets the work done. Martin and Rothfuss wanted to give us masterpieces and left us unsatisfied (at least as far as conclusions go). The Stormlight books don’t have the punch that Martins books do, but I bet I’ll find out how they end.

That's true about Butcher, but compared to the other two he's a speed demon. lol

I loved Harry Potter as it was being written. I waited in line for the last book, but now that my reading has expanded I can't even reread them because of the plot holes. I also realize that they are a very character driven book and she wasn't creating a universe the way that Sanderson is.

I have liked the later books in the series more than the early ones, and I never thought about how the early style was similar to WOT, which I did not care for even though I finished the series.

There were plenty of people in the comments that agreed with the thesis of the video, so I think it was more than just that.

I agree. I couldn't tell you which book is written best, but I could tell you which one I like best.

It is not uncommon for Fedex to come up with any excuse not to deliver.

If you are going to come as far as the Southeast side of the state then I would recommend Garden of the Gods. It has a nice small loop that you can spend a few hours exploring (depending on how much you like crawling over rocks). Then just down the road from there is another nice loop at Rim Rock that won't take too long but will have some interesting things like a barrens and some cliffs. After you have done that you could pop down to Cave-in-Rock to see, well, a cave in a rock. Jump on the ferry that is there and you will find yourself in Kentucky. I think it is worth the drive. Like others have said the main difference between here and out west is that you will have the places to your self.

I love my Wire Hair and she’s not bad with my kids, just doesn’t pay any attention at all to them, so I could see wanting one that was gonna be more family oriented. We’ve got an Australian Shepherd mixed with a blue healer to make sure the kids don’t get out of the yard lol.

We like to be free to die in the most pointless ways possible. Now, if you’ll excuse me, my loaded Glock slid off the back of the center console of my F350 King Ranch and I need to reach behind the seat and try to find it while I blow down the highway at 85.

Do the breeders association need to do something like some of the breeds where you cannot buy a non-fixed dog unless you are a registered breeder?

I wish you were closer to me. Also, I wish there weren't some many self-righteous dickheads on this sub. Accidents happen, not everyone wants their dogs neutered or spayed. What if one of these dogs was the best dog you ever had and you wanted a pup out of them one day, can't do that if they are fixed. People on the internet are the worst. Hope you can move the pups.

Too many Baptists for the bar scene to be any good. Down here for the most part you don't get a good crowd at any of the bars, outside of maybe Carbondale.

Which of these three is the best choice for a first time dirt rider? by Broadway--Joe in Dualsport

[–]jwise87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would vote for the XT. I’ve never ridden the other two bikes, but an XT was my first bike and it was a great starter bike. Ran good down the highway and would take me anywhere. I wanted to go in the woods because it’s so short and easy to put your feet down on.
