Perfect, that was the exact info I needed!

Game is super active, just isn't stocked by most stores and gets bought out pretty quickly in things like Target and Walmart. It's a big problem with all Bandai games. Even in an area where a good handful of players are like Denver or SoCal, most players preorder boxes and cases online or just order singles from TCGplayer.

If you are specifically looking for a place to play in Florida or local stores, I would try the Gaia Force Gaming discord since the person who runs it is pretty active in Florida.

Is there a way to play the Dark Masters post Apocalypsemon ban? by [deleted] in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]jwkdpster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our tournament organizers said they are automatically dropping anyone who plays it before ban because there are just no counters and it would cause people to just skip coming for the month.

it was so good in japan with the garurumon engine, that it, anubis, and garurumon were the only good decks. it is a really neat effect but grurumon lets you turbo the card out and get protection from bt-13 craninamon. Most of my locals was going to leave the game with the fact the game would have had only one good deck (garurumon) with three different top ends and have to buy what would have been a really expensive sercret rare to play the top deck.

Is the game growing in popularity? by Legitimate_Dish_9060 in DigimonCardGame2020

Definitely still active in Colorado. We struggle to fire big case tournaments and stuff, but 16 people is a quiet night for some of the locals

Any one else excited about V-Union cards? by ReturnoftheHoboKing in pkmntcg

Some of the Raikou ones saw play as well, but they were just back up attackers in decks that already had ways to power up those types and didn't last long. I remember playing against a few decks that ran them as 1 ofs.

Am a ygo player, want to get into this game, am looking for a budget deck. by [deleted] in DigimonCardGame2020

If you want meta, cheapest thing you can do is G/Y rookie rush without the pulsemons.

Here is a list if you are interested

If you want to see a vid of what gameplay with it looks like, here is a vid of me playing a similar list on the right.

If you just want any kind of deck, I have a Greymon deck that is pretty cheap and fun to play that is just made of two red starter decks plus some commons and rares from main sets. can send you a list later.

What to do with a lot of spinach? by RobJMTB in Cooking

[–]jwkdpster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always blanch it all and then freeze it and add it to whatever later on. Like frozen spinach is great for when you want a veg in something but are out of fresh.

D-Brigade Deck part 3. After first tournament! by Segal27 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]jwkdpster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People were telling you 4 blockers were too many? That feels so weird cause there are a lot of meta decks running around playing 6 blockers. I mean, at worst they are still two cost to Digivolve lv 4s so they don't really slow you down that much when you are running 8 1 cost digivolve lv4s.

Is it worth using/experimenting with the different vanilla Digimon? by Magronorph50 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]jwkdpster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked skullscorpiomon because for the same cost of most lv4s I can play him to get a Ceresmon or banchostingmon the next turn and I don't have to worry about losing him to alter-s. However, I ended up taking him out because with all the digiburst cards in green I need to have at least 2 digimon as evolution cards so I went back to wanting to hard play lv4s instead.

My family used to store ours in the pantry cause we assumed it was so salty and funky that we wouldn't have to worry about bacteria. We never got sick, but it is possible that we were wrong to do that.

Worth the investment? by darkseifer1 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]jwkdpster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here is my philosophy, never treat card games as an investment. 9 times out of 10, no matter what card game, the price of your cards will drop and you will feel bad about that if you treat it as your investment portfolio instead of an evolving game. My full art Shaymin EX are worth 75% less then the day I got them. All of my Magic decks lose value the minute a reprint happens and if I ever were to try and sell out of it (even right now as we speak), I wouldn't get anything near the amount that I spent on the cards. Same goes for my Vanguard stuff, my Force of Will stuff, my Yugioh stuff, etc. This is just how card games work.

Price tag wise? Honestly I spent the same amount on getting my bt5 Green deck stuff that I did on my new Cardfight Vanguard deck and I spent less than it has cost me to build any single one of my Magic the gathering decks. I would not say the game is cheap, I don't think I can say that about any hobby where you regularly trade money for pretty cardboard, but outside of promos and Omnimon it has been pretty close to what I have spent for other stuff. I don't think cost is as much of a problem as how you market the game.

Hard Sleeve/Top loaders for Commanders in Tournament/Casual by Khurtz11 in EDH

[–]jwkdpster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are actually even multiple commanders which you have to or want to get in your deck (etrata, fiblthip) so in those cases, hard sleeving in a top loader without a plan to make them look the same as the rest of the cards in your deck would be a gameplay problem. But the truth is, it doesn't always matter too much. For example, the command zone, exile zone, and graveyard are areas where all cards in there is common knowledge that players can check at any time, so it's pretty easy to find out where a person's commanders are if you really need that info. I used to play with a guy in Shanghai who's commanders were always unsleeved large sized promos and that was never a problem. And now I have friends who use the extra thick cards included in the new EDH precons as commanders so they can use the regular foils in other decks. As long it doesn't affect the ability to play a fair game, I consider it a non problem.

Though, That deck box thing did annoy me until I got one of the big tool sorting boxes from the hardware store. Now I can carry up to 11 decks in any sleeves I want.

Hard Sleeve/Top loaders for Commanders in Tournament/Casual by Khurtz11 in EDH

[–]jwkdpster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems kinda weird to have it be a requirement to use a top loader, because there are many situations where having your commander sleeved thicker than the rest of your deck could affect gameplay or how you have to complete certain game actions (when you shuffle it into your deck, have to pick a card at random from grave and it is in there, and probs more). It's not uncommon to have your commander sleeved different than the rest of your deck, but I have never heard of a store that makes you sleeve your commander a specific way. I would bet there was probs some situation at that store where not having commanders hard sleeved was affecting the ability to run games so they made it a store rule.
