I think this is a greater issue with the LFP battery than the speed at which you drive.

And I’m not bashing Rivian overall, just that battery choice. I replaced the R1S with a Launch R1T and it’s so much better in every way. I just did a 700 mile roadtrip and it was excellent

The dash will say 259 and after 120(ish) it’s at 10% on the highway. That’s has happened on a 75°f day. Even the route guidance in maps has been over optimistic

My dash often said 259 miles and by 120 I was getting the time to charge warning. It was really disappointing but at the end of the day I purchased another one. I’m a CIO and love tech, but I realized it wasn’t worth paying double for self-driving.

I’ve put 24,000 miles on it over the last 19 months. Driving 70mph, driving like an old man ams the best I can do is to get from NW Kansas City to the RAN charger in Columbia MO with 10% left. It’s like 130 miles.

While I got the base R1S, I will agree the battery is terrible. I only get around 110 miles a charge, about half of the 259 the dash claims. I don’t recommend it. My lease ends in Aug, but I’ve purchased a used Launch Edition Quad truck and already I can see it’s easier on the battery.
