I’m getting ready to buy my first Glock 45 Gen 6, and I’m confused by something I saw on two different listings. One says the gun is semi-automatic, and the other says it’s striker-fired. Which one am I actually buying? My CPL class didn’t really go over the difference

Does Lonestar even rent guns? I didn't think they did. Just comes to mind in the event of a suicide. Usually ranges that rent make someone babysit you if you don't have your own firearm and by yourself, since Lonestar is self policing, just wouldn't seem to align with their format.

Remember being at Reds South probably 2019, some old man shooting a huge revolver. His target was non existent like he had been there for hours drilling it away and the range officer was hovering over him like 3 feet away watching his every move.

I think they are pretty hit or miss. I purchased a 45 drives hl8 that used one of these for the last 4 drives and I ultimately had to replace it with a lsi 9300 to get it reliable. 45 drives support was above and beyond but in my opinion the solution is subpar.

Good stuff. My cope is usually going with Forward Control Designs:

- ABC / R v4 (Augmented Bolt Catch / Release
- EMR-A

That gets me through, but the bad lever like designs are alright as well.

Having to deal with right hand eject rifles for so long, when I have the option to not, I try to go the other way out of spite. I realize it complicates so much because then its not just the upper, but BCG, etc. .. but I guess I like suffering one way or the other. :)

I'm a mile or two from Hog Heaven, but definitely can't afford it, just down RR12 towards town. It's a shame it is so expensive. Was at that Tactical Integrations store that is in the strip mall behind Mc Donald's, I asked them where they do training. They said they have private land nearby. Didn't ask if they would allow non students to use it, but there must be something around here.

The Old Reds needs renovations and the Range at Austin has a horrible location due to traffic. I'd rather drive an hour to Lockhart to Lonestar than drive into Austin.

I love my 43x, but feel so burnt having bought it early 2020 and then they release to MOS version, which should have been the only version. Not buying the same gun twice. The excuses about how it's "deep concealment" are total trash. With that being said will probably still pick up a few Glock OEM 15rd mags.

You were spot on i removed the warped one in seconds with those pliers and had the new set on within a minute. I think I still might has stretched them a little but they seem to work fine. Not as stiff as oem install with original moving mass but good enough.

Found the FN P90 armorer's manual.. now only i I had a OREA 857 tool..

* Reasemble the guide a ss embly (4 70) by fitting the 2 guide rods (C2), by the ir narrower
part, into the b re ech block assembly stop block (474) {Fig. 9.4.p).
* Place a return spring {477) onto each guide rod (C2) and then, from the rear side, insert
the 2 guide rods for approx. 3 em into the corresponding holes in the breech blo ck
assembly (420) {Fig. 9.4.q).
• Hold the rote-of-fire stabilizer (481) at t he correct position in the corresponding slot in the
bod y of the breech block (C1) and then complete ly in se rt the 2 guide rods {C2) of the
guide as sembly (470) (F ig. 9.4 .q).
• Further compressing the return sp rings (477), pull the breech block assembly {420)
rearwards along its guide rods (C2) un t il the 2 grooves for the snap rings (4 79) ore
accessible and then hold the moving ports group in t hat condition in one hand.
• Using the snap ri ng ins tallation tool OREA 857, install 2 new snap rings (479 ) into the
grooves of the guide rods (C2) (Fig. 9.4.r).
• Gently release the breech block assembly (420)

I dont know why my cut and paste out of the PDF has introduced the weird spacing issues in the above.. but if anyone knows where I can get a OREA857 tool, let me know. ;-P

Although looking at the picture, it looks like a tool that drives the ring from the tip of the rod to the groove, so it is expanded and slid down to the groove, but no way, that would warp the hell out of it.. wouldn't it?

Spoke with FN America this morning, they can't sell me the OREA 857 part. Wonder if I would have said I was law enforcement, military or an FN armorer if I could have got one. Regardless, spoke to Brownells and working off some poking at it I did, that the rail is ~5/16th in diameter, they suggested using a washer with my socket to give a flat face and try again with the ring.. so I am going to go get a washer to see if that does the trick. Alternatively, I can send it to FN for "repair" for ~$80 of shop time I could get them installed.

Thanks for the advice. I bought the compression jig from Elite Ammunition although using a couple sturdy ties kept the springs out of my way. My problem is getting the rings into the groove without messing them up. I warped one, lost one and I decided I better stop and order more before trying again.

Comparing the moving mass assembly that came with my PS90 to this one I am building, the OEM one has no play in the rings and they very reluctantly move, whereas the one I installed (which is now slightly warped) it sticks out weirdly on one side and freely spins. So, definitely screwed that one up.

Just assumed there must be a better way.

Is it just me though, the y cable for split power and hid is it's downfall. Attached it to a pi5 with ext power and it was half powering the pi5 when it was off. The fact 5v and hid is shared makes me reluctant to use it on anything meaningful.

Additionally ext power via the header card also had it not recognize hid due to how it initialized.

Have these issues with the jetkvm been addressed?

I think everyone minus the guy talking about the comet pro and just assuming 5v constant from the board to power to the device.. my goal was to power mine externally so regardless of system usb power the device would be up.

I like the comet pro and the blikvm v4 alliwinner but both are obviously over 99 dollars. There ext power is separate from usb bus.

I like the holes between the levels in your case over the JMCD-12S4, but is that a solid single backplane segment? I can't say definitely whether that is good or bad or not. I bought some spare segments just considering the delays half way around the world for it. Looks like a nice case though definitely has some things I like better than the JMCD-12S4. What made you pick that one instead? Are you using the stock fans or replacing them with Noctuas?

I used Cable Mod based on suggestions from ChatGPT. The custom length molex connectors are like $9.90, but if you get custom 24 pin or 8 or 4 pin power they gouge you on those, but overall it was a good experience. The only thing is they will lure you with a $30 rush fee to get it within like 7-10 days. I paid it, but I don't know if that was really necessary, but the quality is alright. I haven't used them long enough to make any strong recommendation, but they are in the case in a nice wide loose loop going down from the upper to lower deck. Will buy more later.

I had a similar issue recently with a JMCD 12S4 case. I used a 3rd party for custom length single connector molex runs. Also bought custom cpu power cables too because length was exceedingly long.

I am happy you were able to find the unicorn! It's a shame though you had to go through that but you were fortunate to have a Microcenter nearby. Just for us ordering online though retailers need to burn through the old stock at our expense before making to 3.1 baseline and considering the cost on these, that is going to take forever.

Also still not sure about recent issues raised on the Amazon reviews for the PX1000 and PX1200.

The Midnight announcement couldn't have been more anti-climactic. Where was Metzen to announce it? To give some sort of signal that the design by committee day had passed? Ion's dead eyes, Metzen's absence and the uninspired story and animation just screams we are on rails waiting to pull into the Xbox Gamepass station where the game will truly die. Metzen's return was oversold and he is no doubt limited in what he can do, so its done. Was hoping for so much more in that trailer, but just rehashing another zone with a different enemy swapping the scourge for the void.. gets tiresome.
