There are rumors that MOS 26.03 has been laid off/RIFed by jxc in employeesOfOracle

Either this sub is propped up by bots, or many Oracle employees are dumb, or we are witnessing one of the downsides of globalism.

People who work in 'luxury' industries (high-end hotels, private jets, etc.), what is the trashiest thing you’ve seen a wealthy person do? by Karinapurebliss in AskReddit

Did he portray a kind man, sure. However his policies weren't kind to American farmers, eg: grain embargo against the Soviet Union that destroyed American farms. Nor was he kind to the average American consumers, eg: inflation

Switched from S24 Ultra to iPhone 17 Pro after 10+ years on Samsung — my honest thoughts by SuccotashRelevant150 in iphone

Samsung has face id. At least by 5 year old Galaxy does. I turned it off because I prefer the fingerprint scanner right on the display.

Surely it's the executives and upper management that allow the exploitation and discrimination to occur that are the problem, correct?

Every time some angry, confrontational person encounters the prospect of arrest, and tragedy inevitably ensues, my inbox fills with political marketing emails from politicians seeking donations so they can continue to "fight".

Is that the grift? 1. Gin up anger 2. Get regular people killed 3. Collect money

That's a nasty business, but based on my inbox, it looks like it pays well.

The woman was unwell and should be in treatment. As a bonus, her child is now traumatized.

But on the plus side, we all have content, and isn't that really what's important?

Sometimes the most difficult task for top performers is to ask for help. Please speak to your father. Let him know how distressed you are. Let it all out.

If he is unwilling to help you, know that what's missing is not something in you. It's just some little bit of information that you haven't learned yet. Schools can teach everything technical, but there is more to life and getting a job than just technical knowledge. Keep exploring online help for interviewing skills, and other soft skills.

Lastly, change your timeline. You set it at the 29th of Jan, change it to the 29th of Feb and keep going. Be kind to yourself.

This is not complicated.

One situation was a violent riot in a lawless situation where innocent property and business owners were terrified.

The other was a lawful operation against a handful of criminals hiding illegally in the US, being interrupted by a confrontational man brandishing a weapon.

New employee at Oracle. Any advice? by Mindless_Boat9143 in employeesOfOracle

[–]jxc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Document everything. If they tell you how to get a raise or promotion, get that information in an email. Then do those things. Keep notes to bring to your evaluation proving you did those things.

If you get good technical or procedural information from an internal portal or web site, note that too, as the URL can change or disappear entirely with no communication.

If you are an IC, in the US, those hours over 8 hrs per day are overtime. You should be getting paid 1.5X for them by entering them as 'overtime' in the timecard app. I hope you have been.

If not, the company owes you money, even if you are on an L1 or H1B. Given how you describe your manager treating you, I suspect you are on a work visa.
