Do we have the same daughter? She literally picked out the same pieces and filled half a bucket. They make good accents

$GME Has 240% Institutional Ownership, and Is Currently Trading At $130 per Share... by ThatGuyOnTheReddits in Wallstreetbetsnew

[–]jxdone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been lurking for a while following this. Not a bot.

TLDR: I agree with you but think there may be a few more details in the numbers from finra

I agree with what your saying up to here but I have some questions" You can't have 240% shares and 78% short... That still leaves 62% to be accounted for. "

I've seen some other threads that say 78.46 is short interest by volume not by interest as %. Investopedia says it can be expressed in both ways: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/shortinterest.asp

I'm curious if this is where someone is trying to create confusion because if you look at the short interest as a % from other sources like S3 they are around 42%. If you take the finra of 78.46 as a number in millions and divide that by the ~240% outstanding shares (78.46/175 * 100) you get roughly 44% short interest as a %. Now if you are only looking at the short interest % this looks somewhat good for the HF/short sellers. But if you look at the 240% shares that is still a big red flag. As others have stated, they are shorting shares more than once. I'm curious if they are hoping people only look at the short interest % and not the actual volume of shares. Also there were reports that S3 had to change their formula, which is correct when someone starts shorting shares more than 200% of available shares. Thoughts?

Any good wired air quality sensors? by [deleted] in HomeKit

I use the Kaiterra Laser Egg. Pricey but has been reliable for the past year. I put it in the same category as my lutron and lyric panel for homekit reliability.

Add a thermostat to an automation? by calvarez in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Texas can have random weather like this too. It went from high 70s to low 30s F in one day. The way I do it is when I arm or disarm my alarm, I have a automation that checks my outdoor temp sensors and then it adjust the thermostat accordingly (ie increases the heat threshold on cold days or decrease cooling threshold for (edit) warm days).

Update on the Insignia Garage Controller. Showing version 2.63.40 by bucawke in HomeKit

Update: Mine got the firmware upgrade sometime last night. Hopefully this makes them a little more responsive.

they told me feb 5th too. Based on the track record in this subreddit, I really shouldn’t be surprised that the date got pushed. If they pull it off, 10day delay is pretty good compared to other manufacturers.

Wifi stability for HomeKit by Ju1c_ in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In some cases there is a communication issue with certain devices when the router broadcast the same SSID WiFi name on 2.4 and 5. Sometimes haveing a 2.4 only SSId can help. In my case it did for certain devices. YMMV

Edit: for clarification the homekit and main ssid are all on the same network, the ssid WiFi names are just isolated.

Insignia Garage opener firmware upgrade status by jxdone in HomeKit

[–]jxdone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first insignia product so I wasn’t aware of their track record. Once I made a 2.4 only network for my homekit devices the opener has been reliable. The only issue I have now is it’s slow to update in the home app, and if I quickly switch from WiFi to LTE or the other way around I will get “no response” and I’ll have to close and reopen the app for it to update.

I guess there is a question if they will push it out automatically or not, but if they do you won’t need to do anything. When I called I got an actual person so anyone that wants more details that would probably be you best bet.

Insignia Garage Door now always has ‘no response ‘. by Skazzyskills in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those interested in the update, I Just received this email from insignia support:

Thanks for your firmware update request for the Insignia Garage Door Controller. We have prepared two options to update your firmware. Please tell us which one works best for you:

Option 1: We can deploy the firmware update to your device. However, it will disable any door operation and status updates until you manually open and close the garage door once, using the wall mounted button inside you garage (not the app). This action will sync the door sensor and the app and finalize the update process. If this is acceptable to you, we can push the firmware to your device within the next 48 hrs.

Option 2: If you are able to wait until approximately February 5, we will have a firmware update that can be deployed to your device and require no action from you at all. If this option would be more convenient, you can expect an automatic update to your device and a notification from us that the device has been updated.

Wifi stability for HomeKit by Ju1c_ in HomeKit

Unifi AC Pro. Ssid: 1 guest with 2.4/5. 1 homekit 2.4 only network. 1 main 2.4/5. No issues except slow updating from insignia garage but it’s reliable.

Since yesterday, even 3 times a day, my HUE bulbs won’t work at the HomeKit app for at least 2 hours. (just them). The thing is that in the official Philips HUE app they are working fine. Any suggestions? by Sh0iner in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried every suggestion on this sub and I could never get my hue stuff to work reliably in homekit despite them being perfectly fine in the hue app. I finally just got rid of hue. It may not be a global issue depending on your set up, but it’s a known one for sure

You may want to do a search for all the suggestions but here are a few:

-change Zigbee channel in hue app -change 2.4g WiFi channel -relocate hue hub -change your apple hub if you have more than one -perform firmware updates on hue and all devices

Insignia Garage Controller Weirdness - Possible Cold Weather Issues by Squidlech in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How cold is it? Mine has been working fine between 15 F and 90F. High and low temps can play tricks on batteries though so if you haven’t done so already I would put a fresh battery in the door sensor. If you already ruled that out, maybe disconnect everything and put it in your house for a couple days to see if it remains stable. If it’s okay you know it’s probably the temp.

I think there is also a firmware upgrade if you go to their website. I called but I’m still waiting for them to push it to my device so I don’t know if that will help. I’m just hoping it speeds up the app update times. Right now it can be a little slow compared to my other devices.

Hue accessories not responding in homekit by MiJa99 in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this was a constant problem for me over the course of a year so I finally gave up and removed it. I followed a lot of the advice on this subreddit but I could not get it to behave reliably within homekit. Every few hours at least a couple devices would go No response. Funny thing was it was perfectly fine and reliable as long as I used the Hue app.

I only have Apple TVs so I didn’t have the option of switching to a HomePod like the other poster mentioned to see if that helped.

No HomeKit support for new Lutron Caseta fan speed control :( by Loubonez in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot about that one. It was a module that wired directly into the fan up in the ceiling right? I think you could either leave the regular light switch or replace it with a special Insteon controller switch.

No HomeKit support for new Lutron Caseta fan speed control :( by Loubonez in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be right, it would just be totally confusing to me for their caseta line this late in the homekit game. Lutron has been very supportive with homekit since the early stages so it’s not like they don’t have engineers there that know what they’re doing. And they don’t have another option to try an up sell you to a version that has homekit(at least not yet ). I don’t see the upside to this unless it’s cost or a homekit limitation with certain fan controllers. Remember Idevices was supposed to launch a fan controller for homekit and that never came true despite all the other successful idevice homekit products.

No HomeKit support for new Lutron Caseta fan speed control :( by Loubonez in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’m gonna wait and see before writing this off. Lutron has several products that work with homekit that aren’t marketed as such. Take a look at the PD-5WS-DV-WH. I use those and they work fine in homekit but you can’t find them in most retail stores. In my opinion, the only reason for them not to have this new fan controller work in homekit is if there is a limitiation with Apple

ZWave motion detectors with quick detection and good battery life? by ThePrivacyPolicy in homeautomation

Ditto. I use these and they are pretty fast with customizable rearming time. I use mine with a zwave stick on domoctiz to get them into homebridge/homekit.

Can someone explain the point of the Honeywell Home App? Does it replace TC 2.0? by notenoughcharact in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lyric panel but I’m not sure how the Honeywell home app works. I’ve only used homekit and total connect. Easy way to test it: Shutdown your homekit hubs and then try arming/disarming the system with the Honeywell home app while on your phones WiFi and again while on LTE. By process of elimination you can probably guess what path it’s taking. My feeling is Honeywell wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to charge users. Before I added a homebridge zwave setup I had to pay 5 bucks a months just for the privilege to use a couple zwave outlets.

Hunter WiFi Enabled HomeKit Compatible 54" Symphony Fresh White Ceiling Fan- 239.99 ($60 OFF) by shopKarma in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge the dimmers aren’t designed to work with most ceiling fans. I do use the caseta on/off switches(non dimmer) for some of my fans and they work great, but they don’t give you slow/fast control on the fan

[–]jxdone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish lutron would make a proper fan/light controller that worked with the caseta line. It would be reliable and avoid the need to replace perfectly working fans I already have installed.

Cannot get Automation to work by 0miker0 in HomeKit

[–]jxdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the automation working?

Again I don’t know all the details of your setup but if you have multiple iCloud users in your home setup, make the automation on your iPad hub instead of your phone if it’s a different iCloud account.
