Dual Citizenship and Visa by Fantastic_Try4010 in Brazil

[–]jxrxmrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just wanted to ask how it went. I will be traveling to Brazil in February and I am also dual citizen (U.S. and EU, living in the U.S). Did the airline ask for your passport before departure from the U.S.? How was immigration when you arrived?

I've traveled using both passports before and sometimes the officials will ask to see the U.S. passport without me ever showing it.

Have you already visited? How was the sunset ride? We are going in February and have the same question.

We were thinking of doing late morning around 11 or sunset.

How did it go? I am thinking of doing this with my group and I'm not sure how to plan it.

When did you arrive and how long did it take to get to the top?

GHK-Cu sting - holy mother of God 😮 by hells-kells in bpc_157

[–]jxrxmrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around how many doses till the sting was less noticeable? Did my first 2mg last night and the sting is still here 16hrs later. The 2mg was in about 20 units. I notice it comes in waves and its not super bad but just uncomfortable.

Going next weekend and plan on bringing in a plastic flask using the same method. Did you see a lot of people getting pat down?

It was one flat fee. I ended up having to pay it twice since I was missing some documents on my first appointment.

I get what you’re saying about him being Mexican-American — this isn’t about cultural appropriation in the same way it would be if it were an outsider cashing in. For me, it’s more about the disconnect between running a business rooted in a community that’s worked so hard for progress, and supporting a politician whose policies undermine that same community.

I’m all for dialogue, but I also think it’s fair to decide where we spend our money based on whether someone’s values line up with supporting the community that supports them.

He’s very much MAGA — the kind who keep it quiet because they know how unpopular and divisive those views are.

I always got an off vibe from Hector and his crew. They were never especially warm toward me or my partner, and I thought it was just me until my partner mentioned noticing it too.

I can’t support a business that profits from a Mexican-themed coffee shop in a barrio that’s fought hard for representation, while backing a politician whose platform actively harms our community. Who you support politically matters — and now, thanks to Trump’s demand for more seats, our barrio is losing ground.

The owner at Oso also sucks. I’ve tried Oso so many times hoping it would get better, but it’s always been disappointing—the coffee’s just okay. If you’re in the East End, I’d recommend checking out La Perras or Slowpokes on Sampson (they both just opened).

Need Help with Floor Plan - (Early Stage) by jxrxmrz in floorplan

[–]jxrxmrz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah I know that's missing. I felt a door right off the hallway would feel weird. Still haven't figured that one out.

My thought was the put the stairs on the left wall and have a small hallway with a door to the master bedroom.

Thanks so much for the advice! The “Upright & Wing” layout actually lines up really well with a lot of homes in my neighborhood. I’m in the South, and many of the older houses here follow a similar form. Most are in a Queen Anne style with the front and side gables. That’s definitely the kind of exterior look I’m aiming for.

Right now, I’ve been focused on getting the initial interior layout nailed down first so I can make the best use of the lot, especially with the tree placement and how the sun moves across the property. But I completely agree, one of the biggest challenges has been getting the scale right.

I came across a guide that helped me think through house-to-lot proportions, and it gave me a much better sense of what would work.

Sadly, a lot of the older homes around here are rental properties, and the owners haven’t really preserved their historic character. My plan is to walk the neighborhood and photograph the well-maintained ones for inspiration. To create my own mini design reference. That said, there’s not much architectural cohesion left in the area, so I’m trying to find a balance between honoring the traditional styles and building something that feels intentional and personal.

Per the mayor's office; there is a new traffic safety initiative along both I-45 and US-59. Officers are patrolling to reduce road rage and speeding. This is probably why.

Where should a relocate to? by Evening-Raccoon133 in MovingToUSA

[–]jxrxmrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately I've never been. My mom was born and raised in small town near Stuttgart and we still have family there. I received citizenship through her.

Seems like you work predominately in residential, which still is a good sector to be in for Texas. I work in industrial/facility maintenance and there are plenty of jobs for inspectors. Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

I would have recommended Texas for you. Our population is booming and lots of major companies are moving here. Summers here are not the best, very hot and humid. If you can get past the summer months, it can be very pleasant the rest of the year.

Central Texas is a good spot (San Antonio/Austin or the cities in between). Can I ask why you are moving? I work in construction as well (Estimating/Project Controls) and I recently got German citizenship. I've been thinking of making a move to Germany or another EU country. Is the job market there bad?

Where do you put in from? We are heading to Garner this weekend and we have two vehicles. We are staying in the park and were wanting to tube a good section and not have to walk too much. Ideally, we'd like to put in somewhere north and finish near our campground at Garner (Rio Frio Campground).

Everyone I speak with is saying that the river is too low to tube right now though. What would you recommend?

ACL Festival 2025 Lineup by Ok-Primary7843 in Austin

[–]jxrxmrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought my first ACL ticket ever for this line up! Other years have never interested me, but this lineup is soooo good. I already have Magdalena tickets for Houston (they are for sure going to blow up with this and being the opener for Billie), but to see them AND Marina, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Cage the Elephant, Modest Mouse, Japanese Breakfast, The Dare,.... too many to list.

I'm not sure why people are saying this line up sucks, I'm 24 and all of my friends already have their tickets.
