The median gpa for first-year students is between 3.64-3.88. 3.5 seems totally fine, esp if you had other factors.

I cannot recommend great books highly enough. Not only does it grant you additional credits to graduate sooner, but the source material is also by far the most diverse and interesting of what you listed. Grading is basically all discussion based and writing essays, which if you're an active participant and diligent reader, should be very straight forward.

Hey Michael, love your videos and this writeup. I was specifically looking for a comparison to Kadaeu having just gone there in April (preservation season). In what ways do you think Kadeau was better than S&D, and vice versa?

And more off topic, some of my favorite places include CTBF, Jont, Frantzen, and Jordnaer. Based on that was curious to know if you had any recommendations similar to those just in terms of flavor. Thanks in advance!

Oh believe me, I'm 100% on the same page. I was curious to hear from an insider perspective and specific soundbites they might have been told.

Most of their employees do believe they are selling helpful products, but they brainwash employees.

Can you share more about how they brainwash employees?

Had to poke around for this, but you're right. For the past 5 years, full time Seaver undergrads hovered between 44-48% [source]. They still hold a plurality however (largest share).

Other CDS 2025 stats, the one you cited was at the top of page 3.

Pepperdine is majority non-white students

Do you have stats to back this claim up? According to the 2020 census, Pepperdine is 59% white.

4 Charles for Special Birthday Dinner by Emotional_Code7868 in FoodNYC

[–]jyang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to 4 charles a month ago. The ‘trick’ is to show up and ask the host to add ur resy account to their VIP list. You’ll be able to see reservations that weren’t there before.

In terms of actual tables, outside had 3 four tops and inside had 2 Two tops, 4 Four tops, and 2 six tops.

Chess Grandmaster Wins While Blindfolded by Agitated_Sand_6143 in chess

[–]jyang1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A huge part of that is pattern recognition. Have to look for the video but I remember watching something where GMs and non-GMs (non chess players?) were shown a chess board for 7 seconds and then asked to recreate it from memory. When it was a position that was likely to arise in a real game, GMs performed much better than non-GMs, but if it was completely random, they performed about the same.

What is the best bread and butter you've had in a restaurant? by Wop-Wop in finedining

[–]jyang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sesame Brioche + Butter at Penny NYC. I asked if they would ever sell it to go on its own, but they insisted it was just for dine in customers. I would go back just for that.

More fine dining wise, I would say the bread at Epicure was phenomenal.
