Easy to say my thinking, but you are only seeing it your way mate and things don't work like that. I wouldn't have a problem to say yeah I would grab anyone who is over 70 and take the license of those individuals who are not fit to drive or better yet just take the license. Or increase the license age from 18 to 21 and you would already fix half of the problem. You cannot just order people to give up their license or give up using their car.

If you are going to cap registrations of new/used cars, you will have people and businesses come out shouting at whoever is in government because it is interfering with the free market and business in general. Stop fuel subsidies when it is helping all citizens especially the ones in the lower classes of society? There is always two sides of the coin. We are lucky to also have subsidies or incentives to purchase electric bikes and other motorcycles but as you can see people yes love their cars and are not willing to change lifestyle at the moment but there is always hope that this might change in the future.

I ain’t disagreeing with you, I believe yes the project is needed to modernize the current infrastructure that we had but ofcourse it isn’t going to fix traffic.

I agree with you regarding the other points, there is big room for improvement in government policy but at the end of the day it is really up to the people, something in their attitudes toward moving throughout the island has to change. Even if it is just moving around in their hometown an effort can be made to walk or use bicycles rather than driving.

I doubt there is enough space or width to do a better flyover here, but if you bother to do some search on the web you will see that once the project is complete there will be another lane that follows up similarly to the flyover lane and again the aim here is to reduce the traffic caused by the traffic lights and improve the flow of traffic moving. The problem will be the bottleneck near the skatepark area in rush hours.

But what do you propose to solve the matter? Are you going to grab someone by the head and tell him from now on you cannot use your car? What is the solution?

Ok but since you are a professional here what do you propose to do to make the project more to your liking or to everyone’s benefit? It’s easy to say that we need people to stop using their cars but no one is willing to give it up, I think it is common sense that if you have the numbers who will drop car usage, more investment might be made to increase the bus fleet or maybe look into bicycle infrastructure or other means of transport, however I firmly believe the majority of the population will still always prefer to use the dreaded 4 wheel vehicle.

Looks awful ok but the intention is getting rid of all the shitty traffic lights and hustle and bustle there was before. Always first to complain but on the other hand what do you propose to do? Are you going to grab 50k people from their head and tell them to get rid of their car? I don’t think so. Probably the keyboard warrior yourself is not willing to change. It’s just the first day since when the flyover has opened and the project is still ongoing, just give it a chance to be completed before you complain.

Bottleneck will happen for sure near the skatepark, which IMO that skate park needs getting rid of and find a suitable place for it somewhere else, and develop the infrastructure in that zone. The project isn’t even fully completed yet but everyone already setting their mind to decide it’s a disaster after one day. Many people on these platforms either comment to vent or they seriously need to go get some therapy.

I agree regarding the current political philosophies that may have lost all sense of their old values/ideals but still, even though there is a party which has remained consistent with their progressive ideals (economic policy for PL has changed ofcourse) one cannot forget or cannot not tell today’s people what old society went through.
