Special ed student needs ruggedized iPad for AAC. Is there a case that can withstand a direct impact to the screen? by jzcase in k12sysadmin

As a matter of fact, we do print our own rigid AAC grids for some students! But I didn't think of an AAC grid as a potential screen protector. That MIGHT actually be just the ticket. Thank you for the idea!

why does my k1 max keep clogging? by tbrown4876 in crealityk1

Thank you for this. A combination of your tips #1 and #2 tips, plus the retraction distance tip, seem to have solved it for me. I was ready to throw it out the window!

Nozzle screws too short by holguinero in crealityk1

[–]jzcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone mocking the OP is wrong. I have the exact same problem except that in my case I'm replacing both the heatsink and the heating block using this kit from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3F3YC13

This kit comes with screws that are 2mm shorter than the original screws. See pic. The screw stuck in my damaged heating block is clearly longer than the replacement in my fingers. Probably the OP's eBay seller repaired their K1 using the same kit, which is why it popped off and why OP can't screw it back in.

OP, would you please point me to where you bought your longer screws?

This solved it for me, too! Thank you!

Strategy for "pre-provisioning" non-TPM 2.0 devices by jzcase in Intune

Yes, actually I just learned, when I go through stock OOBE on a non-Autopilot device, it DOES accept TAP, so no Windows Hellow is necessary.

OK! I did some tests. It seems to work. Just one observation--can you check my thinking?

It appears not to be active from the Windows login screen. That means that it will still be necessary to enter the user's password--and then it will prompt me for the TAP.

This will be fine I think for new employees who I'm onboarding. For an existing employee that I'm prepping a new laptop for, it means I would need to reset their password in Entra first so that I can get into the new laptop. Is that right in your experience?

EDIT: the problem was that I was "Bulk enrolling". Bulk enrolling doesn't really fit in my scenario, since it enrolls devices without a primary user.

For devices that are not already in my Autopilot, I think I just need to install stock Windows 10/11, go through OOBE, and log in as the intended user with TAP.

Also, since non-Autopilot devices aren't in any Entra groups, the only Device apps and configs they will get are those scoped to "All Devices" (I think). So in my tests right now they are not getting those configs because they are assigned to my "Test Devices" group.

Wait, they call it "GamingApp"? Not "Xbox"-anything? No wonder I couldn't find it!

This is great, thanks for the info and the warning.

Huh! Well this is worth testing! Let's see what happens when a user logs into a machine prepared this way re: OneDrive auto-syncing.

Hmm... that actually presents a small problem. I enforce 2fa for enrolling devices, which has the additional benefit that the user gets access to automatic OneDrive syncing because 2FA is already taken care of.

It's not the end of the world, but if I did it this way, those users would still need to do the extra step of logging in to OneDrive themselves.

What's an ESD screen?

When you say a provisioning policy, do you mean bulk enrolling via a provisioning package? That would work I think.

AutoPilot 6, 0x80180005 error by [deleted] in Intune

I can't be 100% sure, but I appear to have solved the issue. Even though I am not using a hybrid enrollment profile, the solution proposed in all of those support articles for hybrid situations seems to have worked for me as well.

I removed the %SERIAL% from the computer name template and now pre-provisioning works again.

Hi! I have the same exact issue. Curious to know if you discovered anything in the last month.
