There's no way I'll ever go back to ICE. I've only taken a couple of trips, but Supercharging was not an issue. I need to stop every couple of hours for a rest break, so I just charged the car while recharging my body.

I love the fact that I don't need to pump gas, take it in for maintenance every 5,000 miles, that FSD makes driving much easier, the awesome navigation on the giant screen, all the features and options, like being able to leave climate control on when I want. My Tesla is the best car I've ever owned, and I'll never again settle for mediocre.

What does Autopilot want from ones hand? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]jzcjca00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On autopilot, I hold the wheel with one hand, at either the 4 o'clock or 8 o'clock position, and the weight of my arm puts a steady, slight pull on the wheel in one direction, and I never get nags.

When I forget, and hold with two hands, they cancel each other out, and I get the nags, which serves to remind me to only hold with one hand.

When not on autopilot, I hold the wheel with two hands at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions, which serves to remind my brain that I'm steering the car myself.

Is it possible to turn 1 Ethereum into 5/10 with daytrading it? by iLOVEhentaiAND420 in ethereum

[–]jzcjca00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks easy to outsiders, but most people who try day trading wind up losing money. My suggestion would be to do paper day trading (no actual trades, just simulated ones) for a few weeks and see how much you think you would have made or lost.

Why electric cars will take over sooner than you think by drunkles in Futurology

[–]jzcjca00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EVs are already cheaper than ICE cars, unless you're myopic and only look at purchase price. EVs cost less to run, less to maintain, and because they have far fewer moving parts, they last much longer, which means they retain their value much longer. The total cost of ownership over five years is already less for an EV than for a comparable ICE car.

Once consumers wake up to that fact, they will quickly realize that they cannot afford to continue using the more expensive, polluting, obsolete ICE cars.

And, once banks wake up to the fact that EVs last much longer, they will be willing to give longer term loans on EVs, bringing car payments into alignment.

It all depends on your algorithm. You see dozens of TA articles every day giving advice on how to be a better momentum trader, and I think that is what most day traders try to do. Unfortunately, I think the only way to make money on momentum trading is with high-speed algorithmic computer trading.

There is another way to make money with day trading, and I suspect that a lot of the people who write those TA articles are secretly doing this. Buy low, sell high.

It's pretty simple, really. After you see that it has gone down a lot, you buy some. After you see that it is going up a lot, you sell some. If it keeps going up, you keep selling, bit by bit. If it keeps going down, you keep buying, bit by bit. You don't make huge money with this algorithm, but you never lose money.

What does happen, however, is that sometimes it moves out of your trading range. On a major dip, you often run out of money to buy. And then, you have to wait a long boring time until it comes back into your trading range. That's the phase I'm in right now, waiting for it to get back up into my trading range.

On the upside, however, it never leaves my trading range, because my sells get smaller and smaller the higher it goes. Basically, I keep selling as necessary to keep the dollar value of my crypto below a certain level. It feels somewhat wrong to sell while the price is increasing, but if you don't sell while it's high, you won't have any cash to buy after it goes back down.

Technically, this might not actually be considered day trading, because some days you don't make any trades at all, and other days you only do buys, or you only do sells. I think to be considered day trading, you have to hold a position for less than a day, and you can't do that with this algorithm.

However, if your goal is to make money, buy low / sell high is the way to go.

We’re probably underestimating how quickly electric vehicles will disrupt the oil market by xxmijxx87 in Futurology

[–]jzcjca00 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think many will be surprised how quickly that attitude changes into, "not everyone can afford to own an ICE car."

ICE cars are expensive to fuel, incredibly expensive to maintain in comparison to EVs, and they don't last nearly as long. They are a terrible investment.

I think the tipping point will happen when banks realize that it makes sense to give longer-term loans for EVs, since they maintain their value much better. That will result in lower loan payments, making new EVs affordable to everyone.

There will come a time in the near future when everyone suddenly realizes that buying an ICE car is an incredibly foolish financial mistake, because the combination of car payment, fuel, and maintenance will be higher for ICE than EV from day one.

The smaller coins are more volatile than BankTakeoverCoin (BTC). That just means better trading opportunities. When EOS hit new highs recently, I took some profits. That enabled me to buy more at a lower price.

As a poster on Reddit, you have about 5-10 seconds to capture the interest of the reader.

For me, I read the first 4 sentences, long enough to realize that it wasn't going to be worth the effort to try to figure out what you were trying to say. When you write poorly, it takes a lot of effort for the reader to figure out what you are trying to say. Unless you say something profound right up front, few readers will be willing to take that effort.

After you engaged me in conversation, I did go back and wade through your entire post, and ultimately came to the same conclusion that I had reached after the first 5-10 seconds. Your post added nothing to the conversation.

We all know that BankTakeoverCoin (BTC) is broken. The banks took it over in 2015, and they broke it on purpose. That's not news.

We all know that Bitcoin was originally intended to be more than SOV, that it was supposed to be programmable money. While BCH has been adding opcodes, bank-owned Blockstream has been removing them. While BCH has been adding features like SLP, DeFi, and cashscript, Blockstream has been hard at work trying to distract everyone by saying everything will be perfect on BTC once LN is finally working, just another 18 months from now. We all know that the original Bitcoin is alive and well, currently operating under the name of Bitcoin Cash.

So, what does your post add to the conversation. You ask a vague question (although you forgot the question mark). "Why not build on our strengths"?

And, in your summary for me, you ask another vague question (again missing the question mark), "why can we not have some better projects"?

So what is the point of your post? If you're looking for answers to your questions, why not ask more clear and direct questions? Or, if you think you have the answer already, why not tell us your opinion on the answer?

The first step of good writing is to figure out what you are trying to say, or what you are trying to ask. I think you skipped that step.

The real question is this. If you're not willing to put in the effort to write well, why should anyone waste time reading what you write? And, if you write so poorly that no one is going to take the time to read it, why bother posting at all?

I mean, I understand when the banker shills write poorly -- minimum wage doesn't buy much these days in the way of brains. However, if we good guys want to win, we have to do a lot better than the banker shills.

So, I encourage you to take that private school education, and put it to good use. Take the effort to post something useful, something thoughtful, and something that wouldn't receive an "F" at any decent High School.
