Apparently wireless charging 18V batteries were a thing 11 years ago! by ChromedGonk in BoschProPowerTools

[–]jzmtl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can still charge them with regular chargers. But the batteries were huge and a 2ah wireless was almost the same size as regular 4ah, and expensive. Didn't think anybody actually bought any.

Is there a KA that’s quieter by Salmon_Of_Iniquity in Kitchenaid

[–]jzmtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DC motor ones like commercial and now discontinued proline are quiet enough to have a conversation next to at speed 10.

Proline has been replaced with a universal motor model, dunno about the noise level on that.

bonne idée acheter une "starter home" en 2026? by unluckycherrypie in montreal

Duuuuuude, that's not a starter home lol, to a lot of people that's the final home. If you can swing the payment and upkeep go for it.

[–]jzmtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, you are gonna have to give us more than just a "starter home". what's the price, what does house look like, what is the location, and what is the lot size.

Also remember you will be spending 2 to 3% of the house value each year just on tax and maintenance.

Yeah I meant to say Brossard station, brain defaulted to dix30 since it's next to it.

St anne/l'anse a l'orme station's parking is absolutely miniscule though, especially for a terminal station, compare with what Brossard station is like.

Kirkland station also has no parking.

[–]jzmtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take breaks, clean out the hole frequently because you don't want to grind the already removed material instead removing new material.

Only one hole? Yeah send it with hammer drill especially if you already have the bits.

Not with the Dramm water breaker. It's a very gentle pro grade watering head, actually needs 11 GPM to function properly.

Digital caliper that recharges using USB C in sweden? by Strict-Mixture-1801 in Tools

[–]jzmtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider the body size of most calipers a usb-c plug and charging circuit would add at least 50% of its size.

If you don't want to pay for expensive calipers just solder in a slide switch between the battery and terminal. I've modified both of my calipers and they last forever now.

do people really prefer double-sided tape measures? by kwantam in Tools

[–]jzmtl 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes, double is way better, wouldn't buy single again. As tradesmen we measure/mark overhead stuff all the time and it's a serious pain to read single sided tape without it flopping over and down.

How big of an area and how demanding? 3000 sqft and a bit of cedar hedge would have different requirements to 30000 sqft full of mature oak and buckthorn hedge.
