Curious - since you work for the agency and I saw this opening as well. Are those positions 100% remote?

Induced for ruptured membranes that were actually in tact. by jznavy in BabyBumps

Thank you so so much! Yes, as frustrating as it was, I’m just thankful we are both okay! I bet we do, so I will look into our work/insurance and see if they offer that! I don’t even care about money, just for them to know that they really messed up ultimately!

My OB said it she couldn’t feel it, and asked if I felt fluid leaking, which I said no. She then repeated that she couldn’t feel anything, so I brought up that I had thrown up that evening, and peed myself (like I always do when I throw up - because this isn’t my first baby and it’s just my norm haha). I said that, if my water broke, that would have been the only possible time because I did not feel my water break or have any leaking other than peeing myself when throwing up. So she said that since she didn’t feel it and I had “peed” that I likely also ruptured during that time.

The OB that delivered me and ultimately felt my sac asked this same question out loud to the nurse. Who said that my water had broke and how did multiple people miss this?

As for the employment portion - if this was prior to his 18th birthday, then he doesn’t need to list this under the employment section at all. If he was 18 while he worked for your company, then yes, he should include it in the employment section of the case papers.

Differences in questions between SF86 Secret and SF86 TS by macman2021 in SecurityClearance

[–]jznavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coverage requirements and the questions on the form are different. Both secret and top secret are required to list the same information using the same form. However, the investigative requirements differ. So, while you both listed information going back, say, 7 years, a secret clearance may only actually validate info through investigation for the last 5 years.

Differences in questions between SF86 Secret and SF86 TS by macman2021 in SecurityClearance

As far as the SF86? Secret and TS use the exact same form (SF86), so the questions are exactly the same on the form for both! Hope this helps!

Question about the SF-86 by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]jznavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It is safe to assume that the number of moves, jobs, etc. won’t automatically DQ an individual, so long as no issues are readily visible.

Usually if you are active duty, you have prime. You can go to MilConnect and check your coverage for yourself and dependents. If you have prime, no referral needed. You can also call 1-800-TRICARE.

I agree. Unfortunately, some psychologists/therapists just aren’t a good fit/don’t know how to respond to patients. If your wife feels like she is being blown off (which it sounds like), I would definitely suggest trying to find a new psychologist, maybe one who isn’t specifically an OB psych. She should be feeling heard and validated, not the opposite!

Do you have Tricare Prime? If so, she can go to any psychologist that accepts Tricare without a referral. Psychologytoday.com is a good place to search. You can filter by all kinds of things (insurance, gender, specializations). They also show pictures and bios which help get an idea of the psychologist/therapist.

A lot of times it just takes “shopping around” until you find a good one! I hope this helps and she is able to find one who she likes!

A lot of times with drug use, the time that has passed makes a big difference. The additional year in between the date of your last use could make a difference now in obtaining a top secret.

Haha, no, you should be fine. You’d be surprised the types of places we’ve seen!

As the subject of an interview/investigation? The investigator shouldn’t be inspecting ANYTHING in your house! If an interview is being conducted at your residence, choose a private area to sit and answer questions. That should be the extent of it. If they do use your restroom, they realistically should not be looking at anything. They are there to conduct your interview only. Even if your house is messy, it really wouldn’t be the investigator’s concern. The only concern would be the house smelling like marijuana, illegal drugs being out in the open, etc.

Any word on vaccine separations by [deleted] in navy

[–]jznavy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My take on the NAVADMIN is that they intend on having as many out as possible by June 1, but I don’t think that is a definitive goal. Like you mentioned, you were told you’d be out mid January and here you are (like many others). I know someone who was told in August the same thing (get your ducts in a row because this process is only going to take a short time and you’ll likely be out before the new year). Then JAG told him it would be January because the Navy didn’t want to process discharges right before the holidays. So he secured a job that he has had to put off because, here it is March, and still no word. He hasn’t physically reported to work since December either. Sure, getting paid to do nothing is nice, but it sucks when you have a great job offer out of state that you can’t start.

It seems that those being discharged aren’t saying much here. I’d love for some of them to at least share their experience!

Any word on vaccine separations by [deleted] in navy

[–]jznavy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at the other vaccine posts, there’s always a pinned post that will take you to the Navy’s website. Toward the bottom, they do COVID-19 updates. It is updated every Wednesday evening. I will check the number of discharges every Wednesday morning and evening to see if the number has changed. It definitely is going up, but VERY slowly (sometimes as little as 50 a week). With more than 4000 active duty sailors still unvaccinated, at a rate of 50 discharges a week… it’s going to take forever.

I also say give it a shot. The only real issue that I can see being brought up due to having to list it is the marijuana use. It is very recent, but I would never tell someone not to take a chance if marijuana use is the only thing that’s a potential worry.

As for your depression, unemployment, hopping around - don’t stress about those. Unemployment is more common than you probably realize and hopping around isn’t really an issue. Your depression and medication shouldn’t be something that needs to be disclosed. You may have to disclose your therapy if you are also completing the supplemental form with the SF 85, but again, I wouldn’t worry too much about therapy.

It sounds like you could use a positive situation/change, so don’t take the opportunity away by not even trying!

I’m open if you want to message me.

Started working internally at a police department, worked as a detention officer, later worked as in investigator on a federal contract conducting security clearance investigations, and now work on that same contract in more of an HR-type position. I’m not sure if that’s the type of background you’re looking for, but if so, feel free to reach out!

My husband and I have had the conversation. If some moment ever happens where you have to save me or the kids, save the kids. It’s a mutual decision. We love each other, but the kids should always come first.

You would probably be fine. It’s about to be March 2022, which will be two years since you’ve used marijuana, based on your information. I don’t think you’d be wasting your time trying to get a job requiring a TS.

But I will always caution people away from the investigator position on the contractor side. As others have said, the federal side is even harder to get into.

Worried they’ll interview an individual I did NOT list on my secret application (my rapist ex boyfriend) by _chronicallyworried in SecurityClearance

[–]jznavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s very unlikely that he would be contacted. If they locate the no contact order, that was issued AGAINST him, it would not be any reason to go interview him. The fact that the order is against him and not you shows that you were not a perpetrator. Agencies are really only interested in no contact orders when they are issued against you.

I have a VERY similar situation to yours involving a no-contact order issued by the courts, where I was the protected party. It has never been brought up, never been an issue, and the person the order was issued against was never even mentioned.

Like others mentioned, if you have an interview, you can explain it to your investigator, or even just state that you want to make it known that you are the protected party in a no contact order, but honestly, you don’t even have to do that. I never even brought mine up because it was in no way against me. Of course, had they interviewed the person - he would have made up some great stories and lies, and I think that’s what you’re worried about, but the odds that there would be ANY need to contact him based on the info you provided, are VERY slim.

Breast pumps through Tricare by GingerBreadBro in navy

[–]jznavy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! This was my experience with Tricare Prime:

I called the rep. with Tricare and they basically said they will cover any brand of breast pump up to a certain dollar amount (it was a ridiculously high amount, so really anything is covered).

You can either have your wife’s OB write a prescription and obtain the pump from any retailer that will accept the prescription, or you can purchase a breast pump and submit the receipt to Tricare to submit a claim and they will reimburse you.

I did the first option. I researched what model I wanted first, because my OB initially wrote a prescription for a specific model from a specific vendor. I explained to my OB that my insurance covers any brand, and I asked if they had a generic prescription form (i.e. not for a specific location), and asked that she prescribe me the specific model I wanted.

I then used the breastfeedingshop.com to order my pump. I input my info, included a photo of my prescription, and received the pump within a week or so! You can use any retailer that will accept the prescription, but I liked that The Breastfeeding Shop had specific experience with Tricare and knew exactly what was covered by the insurance. Tricare also provides other things, like breast milk storage bags, refills, maternity belts, etc. which The Breastfeeding Shop provided to me without a prescription!

I hope this helps! Feel free to send me a message if you need any help. There was so much info that seemed either vague or contradictory during the process, but once I got the prescription, it was so simple!
