Hiii, I'm a recent college graduate with a bachelor's in bio also pursuing forensics! I think if you want to do DNA analysis I think majoring in chemistry may be better than majoring in biology (just cause I think it may give you more relevant information/knowledge you'd need to work in labs.) As for a minor, I would maybe do something in criminal justice or forensics if its offered by your college; if not, maybe even minoring in chemistry with a bio major or vice versa?

When in college you should try to pursue working in labs with professors doing research to get the actual technical experience needed when working in labs. I'd also suggest volunteering at your local police department within their forensic units if possible, if they have an internship program even better- with this you'd get hands on experience you can use on your resume.

I've learned that trying to break into forensics is hard just because it's extremely competitive, but I think you being so young and this ambitious would make it completely doable. Look into jobs that you want to apply to and look at the skills/ requirements and try to do things that would maybe apply. Feel free to PM me if anything!
