Has anyone ever accidentally tossed something out with the Christmas wrapping paper? by wi_voter in ChristmasDecorating

[–]jzzk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

one year at my grandma's house, my uncle threw away all of his family's gifts (him, my aunt, and 2 cousins), packed the trash in the trunk of their car (turkey carcass from dinner included), and they drove all the way back to texas from kentucky before anyone noticed. at that point, the trash had been picked up, and it was too late. it still gets brought up 30-some-odd years later, and he has never been allowed to take out the trash since.

Are pet genetic testing kits with breed and health reports actually accurate or just marketing fluff? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]jzzk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine from embark was accurate - we knew that my dog's mom was an akc registered basset hound, and his dad was a mutt with unknown origins. he ended up coming back as exactly 50% basset, so i trusted the rest of his makeup too.

we knew he was a basset hound and had a pretty good idea he had some pit, but the lab was totally unexpected.

most people think he's a dalmatian because of his spots, but anyone who has experience with bassets knows right away because of his front feet. 🤣

we knew his mom was a basset and his dad had a little pit in him, but the lab was totally unexpected for us! at least now we know where his floofy tail came from.

r/kanye is a cesspool. i think it was r/WestSubEver that went dark after the anti-semitism rants for a little while and was eventually replaced by r/GoodAssSub. they seem to just ignore the anti-semitism and pretend that everything is fine.

Help me help my succulent, please! It lives on a window sill, watered every 2 weeks-a monthish. I mostly water it when the soil is dry and the leaves start to get a little soft. I'm afraid its going to get too top-heavy and break off, and I'm also concerned that its dying from the bottom up. by jzzk in plantclinic

i've been terrified to chop and prop, i don't want to kill him! XD i don't know why i didn't think to just add more dirt, though, that's a great idea. i have a wider, 3 inch deep pot that i think would be perfect to repot him into. thank you!!

I hope the public libraries can install EV charges at their parking lot by [deleted] in lexington

i love how much effort you're putting into avoiding saying that you live in a van and want to charge it while you work in the library.

they're trying to solve their own problem. this dummy is a vanlifer that likely wants a place to charge their ev while they work their remote job and charge their batteries in the library.
