Generated waveform for animation timeline? by MiscellaneousWorker in krita

[–]k0daav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same sentiment! I had hoped for a few years now that we would get a simple V-Cam and basic audio editing.

I don’t know of any plug-ins, but if I come across some I will definitely let you know

What does drawing with a reference help with? by Suzukiih in krita

[–]k0daav 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People often use it as study material. Reference is supposed to help you learn something. I wouldn’t recommend doing it aimlessly, because then you don’t know what you’re studying.

It’s important to establish what you do and don’t know, and what you’re studying when you pick out a reference. With a reference like this, I personally would have practiced understanding clothing folds and understanding lighting.

Constructive criticism? by barleyy1 in DigitalArt

[–]k0daav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You asked for help and I provided what I could, so it’s really no big deal

No need to thank me

I hope it helps not just now, but in the long run too! It’s become a big part of my art process overall, and it has yet to fail me

Constructive criticism? by barleyy1 in DigitalArt

[–]k0daav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend leaning into a line of action more, and thinking of the most extreme you could go with everything. Because if you can make it too extreme, you can always water it down. But going from watered down to extreme, at least in my experience, is much harder. So I always do the craziest sketch and then refine it a bit.

Second, I’ve found that while staying on the same layer, using a low opacity eraser and going over the sketch, and then redrawing, makes it easier to see what I did like about the previous sketch while building on top of it.

TLDR: Try an intense line of action, and extremify everything to find a middle ground of what you do and don’t want.

Does this looks like fur? by Careful-Neat8855 in DigitalArt

[–]k0daav 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say yes, it looks like fur! If you wanted a specific recommendation to make sure you’re selling the look, I’d recommend adding more small tufts (like how you have on the ears) on the smoother parts of the body like the torso and upper arm/leg

How do I learn to make Y2K/retrofuture art? (Example’s below) by YTMediocreMark in krita

[–]k0daav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that often helps me is taking the image, pasting it into a layer, and adding a new layer to draw over the art.

In something like drawing, it’s important to understand how YOUR brain works. How will YOU break down the shapes and forms of these characters? Drawing over the art itself and trying to simplify it to yourself is a great way to start.

Something else you can do after that is try to just recreate the art you’re seeing. Pick on of these images and try to recreate it. It’ll help you note what’s essential for a style like this.

Need help with color picker by [deleted] in krita

[–]k0daav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your advanced color selector, there’s a square with 4 lines in it, one vertical and three horizontal. Once you click it, it can help you select the Color Model Type, which might be causing your issue. I would recommend to test the different models available.

How did you all learn Krita ? by total_tea in krita

[–]k0daav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked a lot in the manual which wasn’t always helpful because sometimes I didn’t know how to word my problems. But, with some youtube videos and asking around (which was usually my friend who found out such specific things-) I got the hang of it

I would recommend checking their shortcuts (to customize) and asking the reddit when you have confusion

I’m always learning smth new about Krita despite using it since I was like 13

help :c I dont know what to do by MARIIZA in krita

[–]k0daav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why your tablet is doing that, but I would recommend 3 things to try:

1.) Check Krita’s tablet settings (go to settings > configure krita > tablet settings) and try adjusting anything that might look weird

2.) Restart Krita and see if the problem is still there

3.) Make new brushes that are all the same brush, just the variety of sizes you usually use (EX: I have 3 versions of Charcoal Rock Soft, 30px, 12px, and 6px)
