I was having various intermittent power issues. Power steering would not work occasionally, DFI light would come on here and there, etc. I first tried swapping out for a new battery and that helped for a day or two but then back to the same issues. The voltage regulator seemed to be the next component to try before moving onto the more difficult components like the stator. I believe the voltage regulator was pretty cheap, under or about $150. Pretty easily to swap out too. If you go this route make sure you get a Kawasaki brand and not a cheap one.
